I have been a part of BTC for 4 to 5 years now and this is probably the 6th or 7th MMA gym I have been apart of. This is by far the best MMA gym I have ever seen and it’s evident in both the members and employees. Thanks to the hard work of Adam (Part Owner & BTC LW Champion), Paul who is an incredible BJJ coach and not to forget other employees like Josh who is a huge benefit at BTC! I can always count on employees like Josh, coaches like Adam, Paul &’ Clay (wrestling coach) and senior members/Pro’s like Serhiy to help/guide when I am uncertain. All the coaches and senior members make the environment feel like a family! We have people as young as 4/5 years old up to members who are 80 years old. There is plenty of classes, great weights, a sweet full cage, full boxing ring, large mat space, extra bags and equipment for strength & conditioning. I couldn’t recommend this gym any more, if you buy a membership, go for the yearly deal, you won’t regret it and it’s very affordable.

Recently joined after a long hiatus from training in mixed martial arts. Great gym and people and it got me back into training efficiently including getting a good workout in.

BEWARE!!! As other customers have indicated. It seems like this gym is struggling financially and now stealing people's money. I signed up for a family membership last year in November for $750+tax. I was told at the time that it was a promotional offer and a 1-year contract. Since they moved the gym to a new location, I couldn't use the gym (the previous location was right off the highway 403 on Appleby, and the new location is closer to the lakeshore now). I checked with one of their front desk staff a few months ago to cancel my membership and she told me that my membership was for one year and could not be cancelled (even though they moved location) and confirmed that it would expire in November. I have had previous memberships at this gym and they expired after the stated contracts length. This time they put an unauthorized charge on my card for the full membership renewal, I reached out to them immediately and explained that it was one of their staff who confirmed after checking my account that it was one year membership only and would expire in November 2024, and that I haven't used the gym in many months and can't use it in the future either but they're refusing to refund the money now. They should be ashamed of themselves for trying to steal people's money like that. I am exploring legal options now.

EDIT: Response to the Owner's response below:

The response from the owner below should serve as a warning for anyone looking to sign up with this gym in the future. Avoid this gym and protect yourself from shady and illegal business practices like these.

For those, who are facing similar issue with them. Note that you're protected under Ontario Consumer Protection Act. As per this law:

"All contracts must end after one year.

Contracts may be renewed only if the gym follows certain rules, including:

- sending you a renewal notice at least 30 days, but not more than 90 days before the contract expires
- giving you a copy of the contract that clearly notes all changes the gym has made to the contract

If your membership is renewed without notice, it is not a valid contract and you may give notice of cancellation to the gym.

You can also demand them to return any money paid after the original contract ended."

In my case, no agreement was provided even at the time when the original contract was signed. I have requested the original signed contract from the club but they haven't responded to that email yet. Also, no renewal notification was sent to me 30 day prior to the renewal.

This gym is terrible. I was a member for 3 years at the old location and enjoyed it. Now the gym seems like it is desperate for profit and does whatever it can to cut corners/charge members. I signed a contract to the gym and was told It came with towel service, then after signing was told that the "towel service" only meant I was able to purchase towels....like wtf. Two thumbs down.

Genuinely THE worst gym I’ve ever been to. Water is not free which is ridiculous for an MMA gym, at the very least they should set up a water fountain. Equipment is definitely old and not well maintained whatsoever. From a MMA point of view the facility is fine but as a weight training gym they fall short in almost every aspect. They do not have a proper locker room/changing room facility. Worst of all I’ve been turned away from using the sauna several times because “the fighters needed to use it” when I was a paying member of this gym. If I knew that was going to be the case I would’ve asked for a reduced rate or at least some form of compensation as I was never told I may be subject to not being able to use an amenity which I pay for. Do yourself a favour and take your business elsewhere.

Bathrooms were dirty most of the time. Instructors often socialize instead of helping when asked during the class. You have to buy water as there is no fountain on site. Overpriced gym lacking the basics. Personal trainers lacked professionalism and were late. Policies for cancelling a contract are terrible there is no refund if you relocate, unlike most gyms. Glad I got reimbursed from work I would not pay full price for this gym.

The monthly kids membership is a great value. Unfortunately, we didn't have a great experience. They don't have anything for 6 year Olds and I was told my (almost 6 year old) could join the 7-12 classes. As a mother I was skeptical, but i was reassured it would be fine. My son has never had any experience with these types of classes and was super excited, we brought him here to get his self esteem up. Sadly, it only made this worse. The age gap was just far too big, he wasn't able to grasp the concepts fast enough and on our final day he left in tears (I immediately quit after this specific class not finishing out the remaining month). When partnered up with another boy his height (albeit he was 2 years his senior), the boy yelled at him multiple times for not being able to participate fast paced enough in a partnered practice. He continually yelled and stomped his feet and called my child an idiot and my child went to the corner crying. He then came to me crying saying said he just wanted to go home. My kid was supposed to be in a supportive environment, and I understand kids can get frustrated but my child was bullied and now he doesn't want to further any classes, anywhere else. My heart broke seeing the incident unfold. The staff is really nice and the concept is great but for beginners or younger than 7, I simply wouldn't recommend. This place broke my sons spirit.
