Went to the restaurant for lunch on June 1. Seated behind us was an elderly gentleman with a younger man, possibly his son, in his 40s perhaps. They seemed like a nice duo and were having a quiet conversation while having lunch. The elderly gentleman accidentally tipped his wine glass over spilling most of his red wine on the table, the floor and his feet. Though staff were helpful with the clean up, their server almost sounded condescending when the younger gentleman asked if it would be possible to get the glass topped up. I don’t remember her exact wording, but she informed them that they were welcome to purchase a new glass of wine. I understand businesses need to make a profit, however, if the winery is able to waive a wine tasting fee when one purchases a bottle at the wine shop, I was shocked that they couldn’t top up this man’s glass. I asked the men if I had possibly misheard her, but they confirmed my initial interpretation. When they got their bill, which was well over $200, they were still charged for the spilled glass. We were happy to hear that the men did not add a tip as a result.

Though our meal was delicious, having seen and heard this interaction put an extremely bad taste in our mouths and a damper on our experience at the restaurant. We added a minimal tip to our bill as a result and we will not be returning.

Another lovely stay at Burrowing Owl!
Lovely, large and super clean room with all the amenities. Wonderful dining at an amazing long table French themed dinner. Such great tastes with unique twists on the cuisine(a french onion soup raviolo!) and fantastic service from everyone on the team. Close to so many other experiences but you get to feel like you’re getting away from it all in the serenity of the vineyard. The folks in the wineshop are so informative and friendly!!

We went for the wine tasting which was $5 and donated towards the local burrowing owl society. Dale who walked us through the tasting was very knowledgeable and a delight. We got to try a balance of whites and reds, and purchased a few bottles which are typically harder to get in the lower mainland. I would come back again, highly recommend it.

Burrowing Owl has always made some of my favorite wine. Visiting and staying in their guest house however, is how I made incredible memories. I felt transported to a gentle spa as I walked into the guest room. Each member of the team welcomed me with the warmth and kindness of a dear friend. Dinners at the Sonora Room were delicious to the last bite and a work of art! I’m already planning my next visit!

My friend and I had the best tasting experience at Burrowing Owl with Christa. She was engaging, quite funny, and very knowledgeable. It was definitely a fantastic visit, and we'll be back to see her again.

Very disappointed with the lack of communication and care following our recent wine shipment.
Several bottles arrived with completely dried-out corks, compromising the quality of the wine. Unfortunately, after reaching out, the follow-up was nonexistent and unhelpful. Unless you’re local and able to return faulty bottles in person, I would strongly recommend against purchasing wines for delivery.

26$ grilled cheese sandwich... Literally. This is also an apt metaphor for the entire experience. Lunch at The Burrowing Owl Restaurant was, both literally and metaphorically, a 26$ grilled cheese sandwich.

A flight of so-so wine, with a total volume of 7.5 oz, was 30$. A 27$ salad was the size of a side salad. We sat inside with no view. At 1 hour and 5 minutes after our reservation started, a man with gray curly hair, who had not yet talked to us, started aggressively pulling things off our table.

You will be happier with takeout in the park.
