For anyone thinking of renting equipment from C&L, please know that their "insurance policy" is an absolute scam. If there are damages of $2001-$2500, the deductible is $2500. That's right, the insurance deductible costs MORE than the damage itself! The fellows at the front desk will tell you the insurance will cover you for damages, but if you read the small print (as shown in C&L's own documentation - attached as a pic in this review), it is clear that this is not necessarily the case. If in doubt, go to C&L and ask them to explain the deductible of $2500 for damages of $2500! I would be interested to see how that goes for you.

I paid over $1000 for insurance for an excavator rental, and after seven (7) weeks of returning the machine, C&L attempted to blame me for over $2000 in damages. Why on earth would it takes OVER 7 weeks?! The repairs took 4 hours and the parts were all standard parts which are typically stocked at the Comox Bobcat dealership. The hours on the work order had fake (incorrect) hour meter readings of 1.5 hours, when the actual hours of the machine were over 3000 hours. I'm not sure what happened in this 7 week time period, but it seems strange that fake hours were recorded on the work order. I returned the machine in good working order and have multiple witness who can attest to this. The claim by C&L that there were other damages caused by me, is an absolute lie.

Before stepping foot into this business, seriously consider the above information and ask yourself if this is the type of company you'd like to contract with.

On the morning of Friday July 04, 2025. I called C&L Supply Rentals and a female answered the phone. I asked her if they had Scooters for rent and she said that they indeed have scooters for rent and that there was four available. I said “Great, I would like to rent one for 5 days”. She said certainly, a guy will get back to me shortly for my info and payment method. I waited 3 hours with no call. I called back, the same lady answered, I reminded her of who I was and she said again, that some one will get right back to me shortly. I waited another 2 hours and same lady, saying the same thing g for the third time that a guy is getting back to me soon. I waited a hour or so and tried to call again and they were closed. I called first thing Saturday morning. 24 hours after I was told that the scooters were available. A guy answered, I told him who I was and that I was waiting since yesterday morning for someone to return my call for a scooter. He then told me that he JUST rented out all the scooters and that none will be available for a week. I was quite annoyed at the time I had wasted trying to get a scooter. I shared my experience with others and apparently, C&L Supply Rental has a poor track record and this is a COMMON occurrence. I will never use this company, nor would I suggest them to anyone else.

I have ordered two items from them that have never shown up . I am still waiting after 6 months for a part . They sell equipment but don't have accessories to the equipment so now I got to order it . How long will that be It shouldn't take longer then a week to order parts I am ready to take my business. Time is money and thid affects my business and if your not aware of this then please address with your staff .

Really disappointed by the service I had here... even if the digger I rented was nice, the service was terrible. I received my bill many weeks after the end of the contract, and with a lot of extra! We never talked about that, so that's why I'm upset

Great service and sales support. I wanted a quality leaf sucker / muncher that will stand the test of time. After some online reviews I found this supplier and was pleasantly surprised by the helpful and knowledgeable staff. They set me up with a machine that fit my needs and made sure I knew how to operate it before leaving the shop.

Good selection. Make sure you get a written estimate before renting. Prices are always higher than quoted with lots of extra charges. Often worth driving to courtenay.
