A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who work tirelessly at the Canmore Hospital including the Doctors, the Nurses, the lab technicians, the Administrators, the Janitors and everyone else. Have been there a couple of times due and each time I have been taken care of and treated so well. The hospital is always clean and welcoming and calm. The service is impeccable. There is often a waiting period in emergency depending upon the patient situation and times. Be prepared and patient with the attending physician and nurses they will go above and beyond to make sure you get the best care and treatment.Thank you for saving lives.

A MASSIVE thank you to the entire Emergency team at Canmore General. My mom and I are currently on a Canada road trip, and with unexpected turn of events, my mom fell ill after leaving Banff... the nurses and doctors took excellent care of her and went above and beyond to ensure she continues safe travel. They even transferred her to Calgary to meet with the best surgeon and care team just to make sure she's out and about hugging trees again and high-fiving the Sky in no time. Alberta Health Care, you rock!

After my boyfriend had pain in his leg from a long haul flight we came in to the hospital. We went through triage and then sat in the waiting room for 2 and half hours. They kept telling us they were busy but we were the only ones left in the waiting room. Once we were admitted to the emergency room the nurse did exactly the same as triage, they didn’t explain anything to what was going to happen next just to wait for a doctor. Again we were told it was busy so the waiting time for doctor might be long. However, we were the only ones in this bay. When I walked around the emergency bit it too was not busy. Four doctors were sat around talking about hoovers and their home life’s when I asked one of them how long it would be they just said I don’t know. Despite there being no one else in this bay we were sat on two awful chairs that was making my partners leg increasingly worse. After another two hours of waiting we finally saw the doctor who again did exactly what the nurse did. We were then told all he needed was a blood test. After another hour of waiting on these chairs listening to the doctor’s gossiping, no water, nothing. I had to get up go to the doctors and tell him my partner was going to leave if we did not get blood taken as then it was another hour wait for the results. He again was shocked no one had been and if I had not said this we probably would’ve been forgotten about. Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hospital. After the blood test we refused to wait any longer and told them to call with the results. Over Five hours of waiting for a blood test.

If possible I'll give 0..
Last tuesday morning I took my wife at 4:15 am. to the emergency department because she had 39+ fever during the whole night, severe cough, and an intense pain in the ribs,

We never got sick, so when happens means there is something.

When we got there, the nurse who checked us in didn't show much emphaty. The only thing she said was: Did you give her TAYLENOL?- Which, by the way, I did, but of course, that "medicine" that every single doctor recommend to take.

She took us inside and told us the next doctor would be there in 1 hour (supposed to be 5:30) but came past 6 when my wife had a high fever.

After 2 min check, she said: "Oh, yeah. It is a viral infection. There's no magic pill to heal that, go home, drink water and rest, and if after 5 days still the same, you come back"

Well, those were the most horrible days in Canada. Of course, I got the illness as well, and we've been with exactly the same symptoms since then buying different presentations of the MAGIC MEDICIN called Taylenol that doesn't help at all.

Today, I reached 39.6 of fever in the morning when we drove to Calgary to see our family doctor.

Long story short. We had pneumonia and a BACTERIAL infection in the throat. We god antibiotics (real medicine) and feeling better.

It's just annoying how negligent the doctor here was. She didn't care. She said a totally different diagnostic, and because of her, we waited a few days under pain and a fever.

I understand that when a viral illness is treated with antibiotics, it is kind of risky. But, on the other hand, why are doctors so scared to prescribe the right medicine.

TAYLENOL (acetaminophen) is something that just makes you feel a little better momentary, but after 2 hours, everything is the same.

I know the health system is kind of tight, but that's why the time a doctor spends with you MUST be a good quality one!!

The kindness person that night was the security guard who kindly showed us where to go and showed the genuin care of two people that are showing up at 4 am on a -22° C night.

The entire ACUTE CARE team, from Dr. Wang to Will, Joanna, Anna, and Grace, to name just a few, gave our mom the very best care in her time of need. They were all a great source of support, comfort and compassion for us in our time of need. Thank you, it was the level of carING that made the difference, and that will never be forgotten. ❤️‍🩹. Best emergency care I’ve received in years probably. I was seen for this same issue in bc hospital twice in the past couple weeks. They did blood work and set me home. The Canmore emergency staff took my issue seriously and took into consideration my past history, gave me some answers and a plan to resolve the issue. Waited probably 15 minutes maximum in the waiting room before I got brought into a room.

We were so lucky today to find this place. we came in at 12 PM because of an emergency and recieved the best care possible. We are camping tourists from Europe so we were lost and confused on top of everything but the Registered Nurse DeANN went above and beyond! The medical treatment helped in no time so we were good to leave after 3 hours. They even gave us instruction and some medication for the next days! I am a healthcare professional myself so I can safely say that we were really lucky to end up with such good care. Thank you so much!
