We were traveling to Canada and very far from home when our dog got sick. They realized the urgency and took her in quickly. Successfully treated her and got better in a very short time. The bill was about 1/3 the cost than in the US. They truly care for your pet and your wallet. I wouldn’t hesitate to take your animal here, they’re in good hands.

I just want to give a huge thank you to Jill and Ian who immediately took in our cat Emilio and they made him priority. They worked with us to come up with a payment plan and were amazing. Our cat had a UTI and we were not sure he would make it. Thank you for your compassion and kindness.
Emilio had to stay at the clinic another night with a catheter and needing more meds, the call to tell me the used the staff fund to pay for the rest of his treatment. The most incredible thing someone has ever done for me, I’m overwhelmed by gratefullness! Dr. Ian called with every update keeping me informed. Today we hope for good news. Thank you Brandy

Dr. Sylvia was very prompt to investigate my dog's condition in every possible way imaginable even though she had early on all the results and clinical symptoms she needed to cure him rapidly, effectively and and at a very low cost, she did not.

I write this bad review today because Dr. Sylvia showed a complete lack of humility and compassion after I presented these facts (had to succesfully treat my dog elsewhere 1 month later) towards her ignorance of the erlichiosis disease.

Thanks for nothing

Bad service, they charge for unnecessary medicine. You should really ask what you're paying for each item on the bill. If it sounds unnecessary it is. They act all dismissive and insulted when you ask, but it will save you money.

I had to rush my dog to Canmore Veterinary Hospital this evening after she suffered a seizure, we were met with a timely appointment, as well as some of the most kind and compassionate people I’ve met in the pet industry, Dr Sylvia was kind and compassionate to not only my dog but to myself as well seeing the clear panic on my face she spoke to me about my dog and her condition in a way I understood and handled my dog as if she was her own, I’m truly grateful for the care and support we received there as well as pleasantly surprised by the cost of the visit. Thank you.

I just moved here and my 13 year Chihuahua Roxy was sick and I had Dr Jen as my Veterinarian. She was amazing and very thorough with her diagnosis of my dog. She was kind, friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up having to put my girl down with Dr. Sylvia. She walked me through one of the saddest days for me. I'm very grateful that I went to this clinic as they were very kind and compassionate. Doctor Jen even called me a couple days later to give me her condolences.

We have read the reviews posted here and clearly this business get mixed reviews as to customer service. We gave the Canmore Veterinary Hospital our business for well over ten years,
in looking after our two cherished cats. Overall, we found all the vets working behind the scenes perfectly amenable, but it was the staff at the reception desk that were regularly off-putting. All young women, they seemed very brisk in manner when we came in, not particularly friendly, no smiles, always so busy with their computer screens. They repeatedly gave the impression as we entered the clinic that we were distracting them from their important computer screen business, and so our needs were to be processed asap. One receptionist we were perfectly polite to, was really rude, frowning at us as we entered like we were a nuisance, then we had to ask for her help in locating a food item on a shelf, which she did sulkily and reluctantly, and at the end she did not bother to say "thank you" as we paid the bill. She did not smile once. When we complained to Dr. Sylvia about this rude person, she closed ranks by saying this receptionist was very popular with customers, this was the first such complaint, etc. instead of apologising on behalf of the rude receptionist and saying she would discipline her regarding treating ALL customers with respect. To the Vets working behind the scenes: please note: you staff no doubt are respectful to YOU, as you employ them and you are Boss! But you do not see how your front desk staff treat customers unless you are there. Please train your employees to have good welcoming manners at front desk. Instruct them to smile at incoming customers and show some personal interest in them. They are after all ambassadors for your business. Remind them also of the bottom line i.e. it is customers who provide jobs for them, so do not treat them like nuisances.

For the above reason, after suffering the disinterested reception staff for years, we decided to take our business to another clinic in town, where we do find the front desk staff willing to go the extra mile in being helpful, and are smiling, warm and welcoming Sometimes it's best to just move on to get service satisfaction.

I post this review with reluctance, but feel I need to share my experience, honestly, so those who have dogs that may have some form of anxiety or separation anxiety, won't experience what my husband and I did.

My husband and I were in Canmore for the weekend and needed somewhere to board our 2 large dogs. (80lb and 110lb). After dropping the dogs off, I received a phone call shortly after, less than 2 hours, advising my one dog was low growling and didn't want to come back inside after playing in the yard. My one dog normally has some anxiety adjusting to a new place and people.

both dogs have been boarded multiple times for a variety of durations with NO issues.

I was asked to come to the kennel and make my one dog more comfortable with the surroundings. I arrived within 20 minutes. Once arriving, I was advised they were no longer accepting my one dog, for safety of the staff and my dog. I then had to make the decision of removing both of my dogs.

I understand they felt like my one dog was in "distress," but again, this is something no other boarding facility has expressed concern over.

I went back to the "boarding" area, and was very displeased with the amount of space my dogs had. The kennels were approximately 5ft by 3ft, and no outdoor run. For $88 a night, id expect a lot more.

It was further suggested in the future to medicate my dog. I may add that one of the staff members was non empathetic, and rude.

We were charged a day rate for less than 2 hours. (APROX $55).

We ended up driving to Calgary to drop our dogs off. I've received daily reports on how well the dogs are doing, and no issues presented at the vet clinic, we observed at the other boarding facility.

This experience cost us hundreds of dollars, canceled plans and heart break.

** I do want to note, that after posting this Google review, I reached out to the clinic and expressed my frustration. I felt like the manager validated my concerns and advised they have had discussion on eliminating "visitors/tourists" boarding, as other similar complaints have been made. The owner of the clinic reached out to me later on, and genuinely apologized for the interaction. She did reimburse my husband and I for the short stay.

I originally gave this business a 1 star, however, I do appreciate the owner reaching out and trying to make some of the situation better. I do believe she has the animals best interest in mind, however, I'm still not overly thrilled on the totality of the situation. For this reason, I am giving them another star.**

I'd reccomend boarding your animal(s) in your normal boarding facility so there isn't a chance of your animals misbehaving and or developing anxiety in an unknown place. This could cost you hundreds of dollars and your fun getaway/trip.
