I’ve learned that the administration is generally unwilling to change grades once they’ve been submitted by instructors—claiming it’s 'too difficult.' In reality, it often comes down to reluctance or inefficiency. Truthfully, it comes down to being indolent. So if you try to dispute a grade after the deadline, good luck, 9/10, they won’t lift a finger due to sheer indolence

Also, this university prioritizes protecting its staff over supporting its students. The administration staff are often unhelpful, slow to respond, and show little care or urgency when students are in genuine need. They hide behind heartless policies that lack empathy and flexibility, making it clear that a students well-being is not their priority. If you’re looking for an institutition that truly supports its students, don't look here.

Pretty much every thing is done wrong on their end. Hours and hours of my time have been wasted trying to get things to function normally. Initially when I applied for classes I was supposed to create a password for a school email. Neither my personal email or phone number were connected to the account, which was necessary to move forward. After countless calls and voicemails left with no reply, I finally heard back over a week after classes had already started. After getting access to the email I was shocked to find that they actually had been replying to my voicemails, just by sending emails to the account I was locked out of (about being locked out of that account). Since I hadn’t been able to check that email, I had been able to apply for the program, but not actually sign up for classes. A meeting was scheduled with somebody to get it done. While signing up, I wasn’t able to actually select anything because they had forgotten to give my account access. Instead, I was told they would do it on paper for me. After doing that, I received an email saying they accidentally signed me up for an incorrect class, then later, another email telling me that paper could not be accepted for some reason. I scheduled another zoom meeting to figure out what was going on. They gave my account access to the classes, however this time the links were broken and the classes could not be selected on the website. Another couple days went by before they figured it out. After signing up, I was told to check the schedule I had been sent previously, to see when and where I would have each one. There was no schedule in my inbox. It took days to receive one. Turned out my classes were all self paced and online, so there had been no need for that to start. I had not been made aware of this. Recently, a new layer of security had been added, Microsoft Authenticator, which would load and load until it timed out, making my classes inaccessible, same for my email. I tried calling during hours when the university was definitely open and the automatic system sent me in loops until finally getting to the point where I thought I would speak to somebody, only to tell me the university is closed. I feel as though I’m leaving out even more things that happened but this is all I can remember at the moment. I can not believe a university would be so unorganized and unprofessional. Truly a disgrace to the Canadian education system. If I could, I would give it a rating of 0 stars. I would never recommend anybody who works hard, values their time, and has high expectations of themself, as it is pretty clear that the people working here do not feel the same. Incredibly pathetic.

In the beginning I paid a for a portion of my tuition because as most of us students who are working full time and already having to pay other bills with the initial thought of my next pay cheque I’d pay the rest but nope they stole $300 (that they ask for in the beginning to secure your spot) from me and I the class I was going to take just disappeared. They won’t give me back the $300 like I have asked even though it is non-refundable after I told them about what happened. I didn’t even go there and I had a bad experience before the semester started. That should have been a red flag in the beginning. I have tried to contact them multiple times and they are refusing to give me the $300 back which is not okay as I don’t want to have a secured spot when I have decided to not go there due to this happening. That is not fair. They have no compassion. I will never attend Capilano University if they continue this. It’s been months and I’m done fighting. Just give me the $300 back that is rightfully mine.

I was waiting for my diploma to be sent to my mailing address in India, took more than a month and 2 retries for the mail after emailing and tagging Business Admin Dean as well.
Now I have been waiting for my transcripts and registrar office is not responding to my calls as well as emails. I already paid for the transcripts 20 days ago and no response from any of the staff.
School is now full of international students especially Indians and you will feel like you are studying at a local college in a 3rd world country as the services and environment is poor compared to many other great universities out there in Lower Mainland.

I do not recommend this school for the bookkeeping certificate course. I am presently trying to register for my third semester and for the third time, cannot register for the classes required. First semester, the introductory Microsoft instructor was a joke. Second semester, could not register for classes required, took over a week to get someone to solve their issue, and then I was enrolled in the wrong class, another week later I got into the proper class. This final semester, one of required classes isn't even there to register for, and the other is in class only. Doesn't help when you live far away.
I cannot stress enough how horrible my experience trying to take classes at this school is. Please, do not go here for the bookkeeping program.
Side note, my last two instructors were awesome.

As a reply to the school to contact the business admin, I have, numerous times. I have now found out that the bookkeeping certificate program cannot be completed in one school year. Why would you offer a certificate program that cannot be completed in a year?

Worst experience with a university ever.
