Extremely disappointed with CARSTAR Ancaster.
Your previous reply — “We’re sorry you didn’t have the most positive experience with us CARSTAR Ancaster…” — is just a copy-paste template, not a real attempt to resolve the issue.
I don’t need generic responses like that.

After the poor-quality repair, you don’t answer phone calls, you don’t reply to emails, and there’s absolutely no communication from your side.
Instead of fixing the problem — total silence.

Please actually respond and properly repair my vehicle.
You took my deductible, did a terrible job, and if it weren’t for the insurance company’s intervention, I would have never gotten that money back.

Stop sending standard replies — start taking responsibility for your work.

I want to share my experience with CARSTAR Ancaster:

Performance issues: after picking up the vehicle, it drives worse than before; the cause is unknown.

New damage: the rear bumper now has damage that was not there before.

Unfinished repairs: even after a second visit, issues remain — the Check Engine light is still on, and blind spot sensors are not functioning.

Deductible: was improperly charged.

Rental car issues: CARSTAR did not reserve the rental car despite confirmation that it would be arranged. The previous rental vehicle was not immediately returned, complicating the process.

Lack of notification: we were not informed that some work was still incomplete, apparently hoping we would not notice the remaining damage or request a refund.

My experience with this workshop has been very negative. I feel it is important to warn other customers so they are informed about the quality of services.

Update: After posting this review, Carstar Ancaster reached out and asked me to call so they could “make sure this isn’t experienced by other customers.” I took the time to follow up and even tried to schedule a call with the manager, but the manager never called me back. In the end, they refused to offer any goodwill gesture or take real responsibility for their mistakes.

This just reinforces my experience: Carstar Ancaster not only failed to properly repair my truck, but they also failed to stand behind their work afterward. If you value safety, accountability, and customer care, I would strongly recommend avoiding this shop, even if your insurance suggests them.

After an accident, I brought my Chevy Colorado to Carstar Ancaster, a shop recommended by my insurance company. When the truck was initially brought to their shop, I called to get an idea of what they were going to inspect. Because I was hit in the rear, I specifically requested that they inspect the rear differential and axle, which I suspected were damaged.

I waited two months for repairs to be completed, and as soon as I drove the truck off their lot, the steering wheel was pulling to the right and there was a loud squeal coming from the side that had been hit. I brought the truck back and expressed my concerns to an employee, who dismissed me and argued that I didn’t understand how an axle works. Thankfully, I was sent to another shop where it was confirmed that the axle was indeed bent.

Over the next couple of months, I continued to have issues driving and eventually brought my truck to a dealership, where a competent mechanic finally diagnosed and fixed the problem. They had to replace the rear differential — exactly the issue I had originally suspected.

This “trusted” shop failed to do even the most basic due diligence and left me driving an unsafe vehicle. I have made sure to bring this to the attention of friends and family, and will continue to tell anyone who asks: I would not recommend Carstar Ancaster, even if their insurance company suggests them.

I believe they purposely come in with a low estimate on repairs just to secure your business — without completing the necessary work.

I don't usually write reviews, but I need to share my experience. My insurance sent me to Carstar for a small scratch on my 2023 Nissan Rogue, which I thought was minor. It took a week, which was fine, but when I got my car back, there was a new scratch that wasn't there before, which stressed me out. The navigation settings were also changed, and the radio isn't working right. I don't have time to go back and argue, but I'm really disappointed. I thought using insurance would mean I could trust the shop. Please learn from my experience and choose a shop you trust, and discuss your options with your insurance.

Had a near roll over in the last winter storm causing considerable damage. Picked up my car after a 10 day wait and was happy to see my car looking better than it did before the accident. They went above and beyond and even cleaned the interior of my car. My car looks better than when I bought it . Nice job

I had an amazing experience with them!

I had an emergency yesterday- my tire got punctured and could not retain any air put in. I did not want to tow it so I began driving to Canadian Tire but on the way I saw this mechanic and decided to make a stop since by now I was driving on my rims and could not proceed any further.

Despite not having an appointment and the shop being very busy, the owner still took care of my car. He jacked it up for me in his parking lot and changed the punctured tire. He did not even charge me at all- just told me that he didn't want me driving in unsafe conditions.

The owner is the most knowledgeable, and kindest mechanic I have ever met. I am very grateful for the coincidence of my car stopping right by his autoshop. I don't know what I would have done without him and he saved me a lot of money since I avoided calling a tow truck in the end.

I recommend this mechanic to anyone- they are super helpful, professional, and sympathetic!

Went to this shop because my insurance suggested it - biggest mistake! Had to wait over two months to get my car back, only to find new scratches, dents, and a dirty interior. Repair details were unclear, and the receptionist was extremely rude and arrogant. Now, the car has a loud noise, shakes when started, and has issues with brakes and steering. But of course, I have to prove these issues weren’t there before the accident - how does one prove a noise or shaking (other technical issues) that didn’t exist before?

I am writing this review for viewers here and do not need any response from Carstar Ancaster. If you had actually paid attention to previous reviews, you would have already improved. Avoid this place unless you want a nightmare experience!

Customer service was unprofessional, and the overall experience was frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend this shop.

Amazing people and service. I had no ride home for a long repair and they provided a shuttle to my house and picked me up when my car was ready. Highly recommended!!
