I was on the floor for two days and was covered in my own ex. Nobody to help me in the apartment as a senior being neglected ended up with influenza and they got me well. The nurses are good. Support workers need to learn a bit of compassion I wasn’t going through a hard time but some of the older people there they weren’t helping them and they were just bitching about their back lifting old man couldn’t get out. I wanna see comparison in hospital but the doctors did get me out of there. I’m off to Alberta now.

My daughter sits up there for hours with her one year old who hasn't been eating the last few days, so congested that she's vomiting up mucus many times a day, cries all day and other people who have come in after her in there 20 and 30s get seen first and the one year old is waiting for hours. Worst hospital I have ever know. I'd rather drive to Owen Sound, meaford, Midland, or Barrie before going to the Collingwood Hospital. It's a joke there. The way they prioritize their patients is exactly why they have been sued so many times. Too many deaths on their hands because of this.

I was transported by ambulance to the hospital with a suspected heart attack. Everyone from the paramedics to the nurses, doctors, specialists, imaging specialists and even the cleaners and food staff were encouraging, compassionate and professional. I was run through a “gold standard” of testing which had a great outcome.
I had a postive and kind experience with every staff member I encountered. Thanks to you all for your empathy and care!

I have never received such amazing care from a hospital! Last night was my first visit to CGMH due to going into anaphylactic shock caused by a wasp sting. I never knew I was allergic and all the nurses and doctors took such amazing care of me! Within 10 mins of arrival I was in a room and hooked up to every machine possible! I am so thankful for all the staff there for saving my life!

My daughter experienced the rudest nursing staff at the hospital. The experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. Maybe more training in personal relations and customer service is needed.
Extremely rude & condescending nursing staff. This would not be tolerated in a private facility. After the situation was reported it only got worse. This happened with the medical floor staff.

I was recently taken to CGMH by ambulance for heat stroke & dehydration. I had exemplary care from the Ambulance crew, Doctors, Nurses, Technicians & everyone involved with my care. They were speedy, comforting & professional with even some levity involved. I had a saline IV drip, blood work & rest & was discharged in 5 hours feeling almost back to normal.
Thank you all so very much for being there for me !

My daughter died at the Collingwood General & Marine on January 11, 2024. She had TBI and was there for quite some time. I had to struggle every day requesting better food, physio, and to remove the catheter which was causing frequent and repeated infections. NUTRITION: Instead of giving her quality food that I researched and suggested they wanted to keep giving her sugar food and then saying she had to have insulin for diabetes! After 4 or 5 months of arguing, they finally gave her the good food (Liquid Hope). Within a few days she no longer needed insulin. If your loved one is hospitalized for any long term and needs a feeding tube, this is amazingly healthy food. Do not accept the sugar garbage they try to give your loved one. EXERCISE: They refused to give her physio or any movement. I had to do it and eventually I wanted her to be able to sit on the edge of the bed so I had to hire an outside Physiotherapist. Anyone knows that a person with brain injury needs to move. Everyone needs stimulation and to move!! If they don't use it; they lose it. Studies have been done that the elderly survive so much longer with exercise. But I guess the General & Marine Hospital didn't think my daughter was worth their time. Sunnybrook did. They gave my daughter range and physio EVERYDAY! PERSONAL HYGIENE: My daughter tried so hard to survive. She overcame every infection they threw at her. The hospital would NOT remove the catheter even though I researched alternatives! She got constant and predictable infections. They knew EXACTLY what was causing her the pain and infections. It was TORTURE for my daughter and TORTURE to watch. They would rather her get infections and then say it was her fault because she was sick. It was not her fault. It was negligence. My daughter was strong...so very strong. She WOULD have survived if they removed the catheter and gave her a chance to go to a long term care facility where she could get proper attention. On a side note: They were rude and abusive to me on many many occasions. Especially ASHLEY from transition to home. If you have to deal with her I feel bad for you. When you are going through the worst of times she is a tyrant. The head nurse Karen is a tyrant. Sometimes it was hard to go because of the cruel treatment but I went anyway because of the love I have for my daughter. As soon as I saw her I didn't care how badly they treated me. I gave one Star because of a shining light in the darkness; the PSW Carol. If you can get your loved one to Sunnybrook, please do it. They will have better care and the Doctors and Staff listen to the family, include them in rounds, and value the family's input. General and Marine needs retraining especially in complex care. I miss you my darling daughter. You didn't have to leave so soon and I am sorry I wasn't more forceful with the doctors and nurses. I hope this might help someone else. Best wishes everyone.

When I visited the emergency room, I encountered a very rude nurse and a doctor who seemed unwilling to work. Despite having severe symptoms like vomiting, nausea, fever, chills, diarrhea, dizziness, exhaustion, and stiffness in my arms and legs(not COVID), the nurse told me I wasn't an urgent case and put me in a secluded room to wait. No one checked on me for several hours.

After more than eight hours of waiting, the doctor finally saw me with a complete lack of sincerity and seemed unwilling to do his job. The nurses were no different; they had time to laugh and chat but had no time to attend to patients. They kept telling me to wait, making it seem like they wanted me to get tired and go home on my own. I believe that even if I had died in that emergency room that day, no one would have noticed.
