God, how embarrassed I was in front of my guests, who were new to Canada and the island, for the rudeness of this Asian woman. If you don't want to ruin your day of travel with the rude behavior of a saleswoman, don't come here.

This place looks amazing!
I looked for days on multiple Vancouver Island tourism websites and found nothing about this place. I was highly disappointed that everything was closed by the time I got here. All I could do was walk around admiring businesses through the windows and plan to come early in the morning next time on the Island. Whenever that will be.

This particular market used to be fantastic but I have to be honest in saying this time around it was an over all disappointing experience. While shopping in one of the stores we had a very disappointing experience with the attitude of the staff, possible owner. The lady was very confrontational when he asked her to try on clothing and what sizes she carried. She basically snatched the clothing from our hands that we wanted to try on and rudley dismissed us as if we are not welcome in the store.coombs is fantastic and there are plenty of other great shops to see but as far as this market goes, over priced cheap (wish quality clothing) extremely rude staff and way over commercialized. Basically what happens when you take something special and exploit it for money.¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Definitely a scratch off my list of good places to visit. Unpleasant and negative vibes all the way through

Coming to coombs is more than a tourist attraction - it's a family memory and experience. From enjoying yourself around the statues to grabbing a 6 pack of famous delicious donuts to grabbing your dinner and fruits for the night at the Market, they have such a funky vibe and overall nostalgic experience for the whole family to enjoy.

Me and some friends went here yesterday, we got wraps from the food truck and sat at a bench in the center of the plaza. Not more than TWO MINUTES after we sat down we were approached by an extremely rude woman who was upset that we bought food from the truck (I guess they don't own the truck), she demanded that we go into a store right now and buy something or we would be kicked off the property ( at this point, we have been on the property a total of 3 minutes! HAHA). As we were leaving, I told her that what she was doing was wrong and I've been a loyal customer of the plaza since birth and wouldn't be back. I guess this upset her as she demanded to know which car was mine so she could take photos of it? We were going to happily browse and make purchases in the stores as always until this lady came along... pretty insane considering we were the ONLY customers on the property at the time.... This lady should be kept far far away from the publics eye! She is rude, combative, and does not understand customer service in the slightest. Pretty disappointing way to treat a guest who had been giving them his business for decades. This is not a shopping center, this is an INSISTUTION, when your running an institution give visitors the benefit of the doubt as you don't know what they have done for you in the past or could do for you in the future 🙂
