Speaking from experience. Went here for 10 years. Decent size, locale and the school yard is pleasant if not a little boring on the intermediate side. Great neighborhood, I'd always felt happy to see the local neighbors bicycling or walking dogs. Parking is not the most convenient. I often see many cars on the shoulder of the road, most being parents. This can get in the way of the school buses.
With my experience being around 5+ years late, but the staff very much the same, I believe I can shed some light onto the going-ons here.
Janitor can always be found doing their job and is friendly with students (give that woman a raise).

As for other staff like teachers, some such as Ball, Barnett, Remezaitis, Voyer, Wojick, Lovell, Muscat and Van Will are on a list of people I personally deem to be good teachers/staff + lovely people in general.
(Apologies for the newer staff as I haven't had the pleasure of meeting them)

The music program here is a delight. I cannot say whether COVID-19 has turned it on it's head. There is an annual Christmas/Holiday show that is put on by every grade for the parents, and in the spring there are many opportunities to perform as a band. Bless Mrs. Barnett for being so patient with all the people (me included) who had to learn from the ground up not to squeak and honk horrifically out of their instruments.
Really, all the teachers have been incredibly patient. Public Elementary school teachers do NOT have an easy job. It's like being a parent to 30 kids for 6 hours a day.

All in all, a decent school with decent staff.

NOTE: Stop changing the floor tiles. The hideous blueberry stained look has to go though.

I may not be the the most informed on the latest of Delaware Central, but I can say this; support for children who identify as indigenous can be assured in that they will hear about their culture. Delaware centers itself on beliefs adjacent to local First Nations, Metis and Inuit cultures for a inclusive perspective. A point that is worth mentioning however, is that the curriculum has missed crucial information regarding Canadian culture of it's immigrants, (Irish, English, Chinese, Russian etc.) and how immigrants shape our country and how Canada is more than a land that was taken from the indigenous peoples. I would have liked to learn about the world in Canada's place in it. Most social studies classes were about broken treaties and revealing our founding fathers to be villains, when in context with the time period this behavior was not unheard of. This does not make this right, but there needs to be context for how modern this newer perspective is.

This begins an issue that needs to be addressed.
You cannot force a culture on children. You can do your best to foster empathy, but many people I went to this school with grew weary of being inadvertently blamed for the actions of our government 30+ years ago. Continuous blame on these children has actually fostered un-interestedness and indifference to the horrors of residential schools. This also tended to separate First Nations students from their peers because it created a 'us and them' problem for all parties involved.

It is incredibly important to maintain a constantly shifting perspective for children to foster emotional and intellectual growth. Spending 5+ years on ONE topic will cause burnout and animosity. Do not ever stop educating on what it means to be Canadian, but if the pendulum swings too far in one direction, you have arrived at the same problem as before.

This issue aside, Delaware maintains a curriculum that educates it students in an acceptable manner and encourages growth and maturity.
Every school has it's flaws, but Delaware needs to sort out social studies for the betterment of the next generation.

We love this school!! It's the best school EVER!!
We came here two years ago, and we had the best welcome.
All the teachers are so nice, and loving to the kids.
The Principal is amazing, and the parents are always willing to help each other and work for the best of the kids.
