HORRIBLE services. If only I could give a 0/5 rating. To begin with, my brother got his respite services a YEAR after requested. I was told that it would take up to 3 months maximum to receive respite services by the staff I spoke with. We didn't, and our contract with the funding agency had even expired for the year (the FSCD). After complaining to our FSCD worker, we finally started receiving the respite care. You'd think at this point our family would be satisfied, however the worker slacked off, didn't show up to shifts and called only minutes before that he wasn't coming. It was like we were receiving no care at all. Later, the worker went on a 3 week vacation and we got a temporary replacement for the time he was gone (she was great and efficient, however she wasn't our primary worker). Once the primary worker returned, he didn't show up for a couple of weeks, note that at this point we weren't receiving care from the temporary worker as she was only assigned her 3 weeks, which is completely acceptable on her part. Once the primary worker decided to finally show up, he continued his pattern of slacking off. We finally called the DDRC to find a worker to replace him as we were fed up, and they told us they would address the issue completely. They sure did, they sent us a letter that they had removed my brothers file from their system as they couldn't find a worker with the times required. In total, we received respite services for 5 months total. The best advice I'd give to the DDRC is to really empathize with families who are in need of services, not ignore their calls/emails, and then later remove them from their system if things aren't working out for availabilities.

The DDRC use to be a very good agency....In the last couple of years it has gone downhill with poor communication. Staff turn over and how it has dealt with the pandemic
