Luxumikanthan Singarasa , I had very bad experience with Lawyer Kelli Preston, I had a Motgage fraud happened to my house, I went to Kelli Preston to deal with it and I paid nearly 50,000 dollars, but she never taking care about my case , she filed a motion at the court but she never followed it . Motion got rejected at the court she never informed to me , and opposition party hit writ of possession of my house,
I went their office at Whitby they don’t want to talk to me and asking another 29,000 , my life is in very bad condition, I don’t know why this people are doing like this

UPDATE: On July 11, I finally received the cheque for the refund from the consultation fee. It turns out the cheque was never mailed out when they said it was issued. The Senior Law Clerk who was dealing with this matter confirmed that she personally put the cheque in the mailbox on July 10. This was supposed to be done during the week before the Canada Day long weekend. So, it took them nearly 2 weeks to send a cheque and if I didn’t follow up with them, nothing would have been done.

I cannot emphasize enough the level of incompetence I have seen during this arduous process and also lack of accountability. The Senior Law Clerk never apologized or took accountability for the fact that the they did nothing about issuing that cheque and then had the nerve to tell me it was mailed out like that she did something honourable. Thank God I was smart enough to see the red flags and avoid giving this firm the $3,000 retainer. If the law clerks don’t respond to your phone calls and emails and don’t have the integrity to admit their mistakes, stay away. Do not throw away your money and time with this firm. There are much better law firms out there with sensible teams who provide wonderful service.

UPDATE: As of July 9, 2024, I still have not received the cheque of $81.84 from this law firm. They were supposed to refund a portion of the consultation fee, due to the very poor service I received and the fact that the consultation was a waste of time. I’ve followed up with them and am waiting for them to do the right thing, and resolve this…

I had a horrible experience with this law firm and I would not recommend it to anyone.

I reached out to the firm to inquire about a simple legal agreement. I initially felt confident in their services, because I spoke with a wonderful Sales/Intake Coordinator, who was very professional and friendly.

I paid $450+ tax for a consultation meeting with a lawyer. This was scheduled as a virtual meeting by the law clerk. On the day of the meeting the law clerk failed to provide the Teams link to connect to the virtual meeting. I called and left a voicemail, and emailed the law clerk telling her that the link was missing. She never responded to acknowledge the error, or take any accountability and apologize. After about 10 minutes past the scheduled meeting time, the lawyer ended up creating the link and we spoke for about 30 minutes.

I had to follow up with the law clerk to send me the information that the lawyer mentioned during the meeting and when I asked her about the missing link for the meeting, she tried to deflect and again showed no accountability. Unfortunately, the information provided was not useful and had nothing to do with what I was inquiring about, so it was a waste of time and a waste of money. Also, the firm requested a $3,000 retainer fee. I would never pay that amount of money given the poor service I already experienced.

I complained about my experience and asked for part, or all of the consultation fee back. Out of $450, they claimed they could refund me $81.84. I found this to be insulting. If they were smart, they would have refunded me more out of goodwill. That meeting did not justify the amount charged and the unacceptable customer service made it even more asinine.

I have found a better law firm that charges half the price for the retainer fee and I’m getting much better service.

This law firm lost out on a potential client, because of the mediocre service provided and lack of respect for potential clients.

The only saving grace was the Sales/Intake Coordinator, who tried everything in her power to resolve the issue and advocate for me. When she asked about refunding more of the fee they claimed it couldn’t be done, because the cheque was already mailed out. So, why couldn’t they send another cheque? Why couldn’t they cancel the cheque they mailed out? They had many options to rectify this and they chose not to. It’s very unfortunate how this turned out.

Completely unprofessional I contacted the office in person have the lawyer the run down of my issue and why wanted to sue. I did NOT get contacted for over a month. So, I visit the Whitby Office in person AGAIN and then the secretary has the nerve to say we don't take legal aid. I NEVER once stated I would be using legal aid (Racial Profiling) then why I say to the secretary that's an assumption she wants to argue with me and I've done everything I've needed to do to contact them they need to do their job at that point (I called twice, Left a message and visited the office in person twice). IF YOU WANT YOUR CASE TOOKEN SERIOUSLY I WOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE NOBODY SHOULD GO THROUGH THE HEADACHES I DID WITH THIS JOKE A LAW FIRM.

I met Andreina Minicozzi over 3 years ago at another firm. I’ve been in family court for over 8 years regarding custody and child support matters. I’ve had other experiences with other lawyers looking after my case at other firms but never like my experience with Andreina. I remember feeling extremely overwhelmed in court on one occasion and my anxiety was running extremely high. I sat next to Andreina as we listened to the judge speak …she could actually feel my nerves taking over and she reached over and held my hand as we waited for her turn to deliver my case to the judge. That was it for me! I knew that she was human and that she was doing her job but most of all she cared about me and my case's outcome. That’s hard to come by these days especially with the negative stigma sometimes attached to people in these types of law professions.
When Andreina moved to DSF Law Firm to further her career, it was an easy decision to follow her as she handled my case with care. If she was unable to accommodate me due to other pressing matters she made sure to leave me in good hands however always overseeing and keeping me assured all the way through. She brought in from her team family lawyer Arash Keyvani who is a very pleasant person, knowledgeable and extremely thorough with my court materials. He was quickly brought to speed on my case and was a pleasure to work with.
My case ended up with positive results in the end for myself and children which we can now move forward in our lives. I would highly recommend lawyers Andreina Minicozzi and Arash Keyvani for your family law matters. Thank you!
