Driftwood Dance Academy has been an absolute blessing for our family. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed into a community that truly embodies the values of inclusivity, kindness, and genuine care for every child.
The teaching staff at Driftwood is exceptional. Each instructor brings not only technical expertise but also a nurturing approach that helps children build confidence alongside their dance skills. Laura, the owner, deserves special recognition. Her warmth and dedication to the children is evident in everything she does. We love Driftwood Dance Academy! My 11 year old daughter is completing her first full year in the competitive dance company and it has been an amazing experience! The teachers are wonderful, welcoming and accepting - special shout out to Miss Courtney & Miss Donna who make going to dance class so much fun. I wasn't sure about getting into dance competitions, but it has been such a positive experience where my daughter and I have formed great friendships. This dance company is run with love by Miss Laura and it shows in everything they do. I am so grateful for the positive experience we have had at Driftwood, we are so happy there. I can't recommend this dance studio highly enough!

Best place! super friendly .... Body Positive.... adults n kids. LGBTQIA+ friendly.... go early parking can be a little tricky depending the time of day. SUPER SUPPORTIVE community fostered early on from the young dancers moving their way up over the years. My kid began dancing here age 7 with one class a week, each year wanting to add another class... until by the 4th year they were in 11 classes a week and participating in the performing company. The costly commitment for this was given back in dividends by the positive connections with all the teachers and the extraordinary comradarie amongst the dancers of all genres and ages. At one of the regional competitions, Driftwood received the "most friendly company backstage award" - yup, there is such a thing. No drama in this refreshing dance academy! This is as far from the "dance moms" drama as you'll get. Thank you Driftwood for everything over the our seven years with you.

A huge thank you to all of the dedicated Driftwood team members. I was hesitant to have my 8 year old daughter commit so much time to one activity. I was also concerned with long term body issues that may arise from pressures in the competitive dance world. Driftwood alleviated those concerns very quickly and easily. They are an incredible group that’s prides themselves and their studio on inclusivity, kindness and encouragement. The dancers become a community of support for each other and a place where strong, healthy, diverse friendships blossom. I can’t wait to see the performances next year

I absolutely adore this dance studio! As a young adult I decided to get back into ballet, after a seven year break from competitive dance as a child. I was looking for an adult ballet class that felt small enough and personalized enough that I could really work on my technique and improve. Miss Jen has perfectly provided this environment giving individual attention in group lessons and being ever so understanding, compassionate and encouraging. As a young dancer I was very perfectionist and critical of myself and while I still am I also feel so comfortable and accepted at Driftwood Dance, something I didn’t feel in my younger dancing days. I would so highly recommend this studio to children, teens and adults of all ages. My ballet classes are the highlight of my week and I love seeing so many smiling faces there ❤️

I'm a beginner, a guy and this week marks the end of my first 10-week session of Adult Modern dance.

Guess what? I loved it and I'll be coming back!

Very easy to get there from Vancouver by public transit, bright clean studio space, and warm welcoming smiles. I was impressed with the overall choreography and how the warm-ups and exercises connected to the routines. Jen's passion to her craft, enthusiasm and dedication to her students was inspiring. While I did have challenges learning the choreography by the end I felt confident, coordinated (haha) and proud of my accomplishments.

This dance school has provide our child with the most incredible educational, physical, emotional and spiritual life experiences that will stay with her for the rest of her life. They have become family to her, providing unconditional support and encouragement; as well as a whole lot of hard work and fun!

Everyone at Driftwood always has what's best for the child top of mind and they work together as a team incredibly well. The children look to the adults for guidance and direction, and the adults bring out the best in the kids. The owners and staff are incredibly talented, creative and gifted in so many ways that translates to the kids.

Watch this little studio grow into an incredibly successful and thriving place to dance and compete; as they focus on what is most important - relationships. From those strong foundations, all the successes in achievements and competitions will flourish from the kid's confidence, abilities and belief in themselves.

I absolutely love this new dance academy! As a dyslexic kid I didn't ever feel brave enough to tackle dance. But I always felt that somehow I was born to move. Now as an adult, I’ve started trying to find an avenue to begin expressing my desire to move gracefully to music. I tried iDance and was disappointed because there is no time to work on technique or to master anything with the approach they take there. Then I found Driftwood and the ever so talented, graceful, dedicated and compassionate Jen, our instructor. The classes are structured enough to provide opportunity to work on technique and ask specific questions. It’s a very understanding environment that is informal enough to allow you to enjoy your time dancing. And you definitely get the rewarding feeling of Making Progress; Improving. Not to mention a pretty good workout. I'm so pleased that I found my new dance "home".
