With the 2020-2022 principal, I'm sometimes okay and sometimes not, but when you have been in this school in there years, she will be your worst nightmare. With the 2022-2024 principal, I am in love with this school. With the 2024-2026 principal, everything settled, except me. I was escalated. I'm not telling you why, and it's not the principal. This school is amazing! Everyone's favourite part of this school is the 3D printer, owned by the assistant principal. Wabble!

This school has been nothing but phenomenal for our kiddo. We wanted to find a school where his strengths could flourish but still work on his challenges, all on his own pace. A school were they welcomed him with their arms wide open and he loved going to. We knew the public school system wasn’t for our child. A place were he was going to put in a class and forgotten about. Here my kiddo has made friends and he feels like he belongs. A place were he doesn’t have to mask himself and they support him through any struggles he has. Our kiddo has excelled, academically and socially. I highly recommend this school to every parent that I know that has a neurodivergent child. The Principal and all the staff have been nothing but amazing. I’m not the only parent at this school that agrees with my review. Unfortunately not all parents/kiddos agree but I know that my home support staff completely agrees that this school is essential for my child. I can’t even to begin to think where my child would be without this school. The staff greet him every morning with their arms wide open and every staff member genuinely cares. Whenever I can I tell them thank you for caring and how much they have changed our life. It brings tears to my eyes. Every parent with an 2e kiddo should seriously concern their child for this school, it will be a game changer.

E2 has been a supportive and safe school for my son (for 3 years now.) Historically, we struggled finding the right fit for our 2E child. Now we have less stress and more growth. Very flexible and accommodating. High staff to student ratio. My son has made amazing friends and loves coming to school now. Life changing for our family.

this school should be amazing, but it is run by terrible administration who dislike neurodivergence in adults. This was our experience that my children were celebrated for their differences and their mother, who gave them their twice exceptionality, was victimized by the administration that I am also different (I am a severely physically disabled autistic adult who is also twice-exceptional). i claimed medical Accomodation on April 8 in an email CC'd to the board president, and I gave evidence of a life-threatening autoimmune medical flare, and then I was blamed that I suffered the medical flare. My Accomodation exception basis wasn't shared with staff, or anyone. But Accomodations are supposed to protect the disabled. I was exposed to the internal disorganized violence at this school instead by the principal who didn't know what to do with an Accomodation request, slandered by the internal office culture over a period from when the medical flare occurred in Jan-Feb 2023 (which is in writing from my neurologist) until the present day because she did not disclose my Accomodations. This culminated in being shut out from telling this story at AGM-- which is a resource for parents and not colluding administrators-- that her staff were not returning my emails anymore despite my being primary custodial disabled guardian to two students at E2.
The disabled should never need to turn to disability advocates to communicate with any private school that calls itself a "centre of excellence" for autism and neurodiversity. I have never been this targeted or profiled or discriminated against at any other school, and I'm paying for this.
2 of the following reviews ( by wendy shea and christie oswald) are written by employees of the school.
Update/ adjunct: february 5 2024
by trade i am a doctor in zulu indigenous tradition, and on feb 5 2024 E2 Academy called EPS and said that i appear "menacing" and "threatening" in ceremonial clothing, which is clearly a hate complaint. Don't believe indigenous land treaty acknowledgments.
My daughter was permanently removed and her school year ruined after her medical devices that are authorized from two medical professionals were banned. There was a closed-door meeting with four adult teachers circling my singular disabled child as Michelle Smith called her a "brat" and "only the police would put up with (her)"; shortly thereafter Michelle DID call police on my disabled child, and that's when she gave the hate complaint about my indigenous religious attire. NONE of the adult teachers in the closed-door intervention-style meeting intervened to support my daughter as she was verbally abused.
So far one of the responding EPS PACT team officers has bee reprimanded and the other is being investigated; all of this is submitted to the AHRC, chief of police, and was already vetted by Office of the Advocate for Persons with Disabilities.
This came after my son was hit in the head with mechanical equipment and nobody informed his parent, when i'm a medical doctor and a concussion injury is potentially dangerous with very distinct symptoms to watch for. But nobody at E2 Academy informed anyone of the accident, although they freely disclosed to the family of the other child involved, who had open cuts on his face and took two days off school because of injuries sustained on school grounds.
We were excluded from the school skiing field trip also.
I went to EPS, NACIS, chief of police Dale McFee, AB Ed, all of whom vollied back to school board president, and when i asked HIM (Mark Hughes) to investigate E2 Academy for human rights abuses, he BANNED ME instead of helped our family that our disability accommodations have been violated and denied to us.
E2 Academy under Michelle Smith is the nightmare my family cant wake up from. What i see from the parent body , before my family's exile: if you fit the mold and you are not a disabled caregiver, then that's great and its the only kind of caregiver E2 Academy tolerates. If you are disabled/ from indigenous culture or, heaven forbid, both at once: run.

This school has been a godsend for our 2e son who greatly struggled in mainstream school. He finally has friends and a community where he feels he belongs!
