I love this school so much1!1!

I recommend sending ur kids here if u want a better and safer school for them the fact is their are 4 principals and they care if u have a mental disorder/disability they also give u breakfast if u didn’t eat any they have cool classes like computer science food studies/fashions and guitar1!1! (Wowee) I am a 6th grader who goes here and THEY LET U WEAR HATS,HOODIES AND TOUQES IN CLASS?!?! and ur allowed to eat and bring gum. The phone policy is not that strict and the staff are very kind and Caring they have 2 calming rooms I think or idk if ur having a hard time go to the calming rooms1! They also do something about bullying too1!1! I highly recommend eastview if u want a safer and more secure school for ur kids1!1!1!1! Plus they even have public transport 120-123 i take 121 and it’s actually pretty crowded during 3:30..

I spent a lot of time at this school and I know for a fact that despite its flaws it's a good environment if you make good choices and I really enjoyed myself personally. I know not everyone will have the same experience especially when it comes to schools but I found the teachers here were really positive and kind plus they were willing to help me if I was struggling. Eastview does have its fair share of faults, same as any other school but I'm really glad that I got the opportunity to go there. I had a great three years and I had a great connection with my teachers and I felt that I was actually taken care of. And I'm glad to have been part of this school's history!😎

Went here from 2020 to 2023, Covid was generally a pain at first but honestly i got used to it.

Teachers:

The teachers have a habit of constantly ranting on and on about how long it will take you to finish an assignment instead of actually giving it to you. They aren't really strict besides on the phone rule, and apparently Slurpee's and Energy drinks are on the same level as bringing a weapon to the school (according to the 2023 - 2024 student handbook.) They also like to make Highschool seem way more harsh than it is. YOU CAN ALSO WEAR HATS / HOODS / TOQUES IN CLASS

Option classes:

Computer science sucks, its basically just typing things for around a week and then it goes into scratch. The leadership program is nice, you actually get to go around and prepare stuff. Food studies and sewing are great classes. Rec Ed and Outdoor Ed will take you off school grounds frequently.

Lunches and Recess:

They split the lunch / Recess time into two parts, Grade 6's eat while the grade 7/8's go outside. after the bell they switch, Grade 6's will go outside and the 7/8's will come in to eat. It just makes it less intimidating for them since its a new school and all. Its also of reasonable length. Indoor recesses are horrible, you're both told you can, and can't go into the halls by different teachers. You have little time to choose where you want to be and they don't give you much to do.

Misc:

Whether you're the ≈10% going to Thurber or the rest going to Hunting, I hope you enjoyed your stay at this school.

This middle school is good so far. The teachers seem nice. It needs to be updated. In some places. The gym is being done now. But the 7 and 6 hallways need some work. The lockers are super tiny.

I’m going into grade 8 at Eastview this year. I actually really like the school and I love the staff. All the teachers are really nice and you can almost always stay in for recess to get help on school work.

Don't send your kids here. My stepson deals with constant bullying and very little is done. The solution the vice principal and principal give are to talk to the bullies, and there are no punishments given. The bullies run this place and kids like my stepson are left feeling afraid to go to school.

Eastview is a good school but it's not at the same time yes some of the teachers try and make a difference but the others don't care all of my grade 8 teachers where amazing my favourite was mr.spink he's the best but the band teacher is horrible she was always miserable she discourage me and my sisters from doing band saying we couldn't do it she mean and rude. Now as for bullying it's HORRIBLE they do squat here tell u just ignore it or talk to them and it jut gets worse my second sister is being bullied and they did nothing about nothing at all and now because of this she is suicidle me or my mom don't know what to do we have tried everything nothing is working and same for my little sister their is this immigrant that has come to Canada and goes to eastview and threats to kill her saying that him and his family will find her and kill her and she doesn't even know this boy she's dosnt know his name nothing and you wanna know the worst is that the teachers stand up FOR HIM now this is wrong the staff are stranded up for a boy that is telling a little girls that he and his family are going to kill her. Also when my mom calls and tells the staff this they say they will do something about it my mom called back in October of 2017 to ask them to talk to this boy and my mom hasn't even recived a call back my sister says nothing has been done DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!!!
