It is a very positive and friendly environment where one feels comfortable and accepted. The instructors really care about their job and this played an important part in my learning of Spanish. In addition, the classes are theory and practice based, so you get to learn and apply your skills. I would highly recommend the EHBA if you are looking to learn Spanish.

I’ve attended classes with EHBA for several years and I would highly recommend the organization if you’re looking for a fun, supportive environment in which to learn Spanish. With instructors from many different Spanish ethnicities, my learning experience hasn’t just taught me Spanish; it’s also taught me some of the nuances between various Spanish dialects. In addition, the organization has strong ties within the Hispanic community and will often have events demonstrating other aspects of Hispanic culture (food, dance, music) that further enhance the learning experience. This is a not-for-profit organization, run by volunteers, who do an amazing job delivering a great product!

I've attended 3 semesters with EHBA and I can say I have improved my Spanish a LOT. The professors here are very prepared and exercises are fun which forces yourself to learn and speak the language as much as you can. I love the structure of their syllabus, it's on a great pace and also introduces cultural perspectives. It's a great school to learn Spanish, I couldn't recommend them enough! Gracias 🙂

I've been taking classes with EHBA during the 2018/2019 school year and would definitely consider these classes to anyone who is interested in learning Spanish. The environment allows you to immerse yourself in learning aspects of the Latin culture - from listening and practicing to speak Spanish in class, to delicious Argentina empanadas, and meeting other students and teachers. You are informed at the beginning of each course, but I wanted to highlight that the classes do require a bit of self-motivation and practice outside of the hours to truly grasp what you're learning. Definitely worth giving EHBA classes a shot!

The EHBA is a good place to study Spanish in Edmonton. The devoted and experienced instructors are all Spanish speakers from many different countries-- Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela....eager to share their cultures. The small classes are structured, yet flexible and fun, with ample opportunity to interact with like-minded people from other classes during the breaks. Course materials are interesting, current and relevant, with audio/visual support. Tuition is reasonable. There is ample parking and an LRT station nearby. It all makes for a good language learning "fit".

It is an excellent program for those who want to start learning Spanish for travel or work related purposes. All instructors are native Spanish speakers with university degrees. Many also teach at University of Alberta so they are all very experienced. The price is very affordable, a fraction of what you pay at the university. As one progresses through the learning, the class sizes are smaller and normally are 4-6 people at pre-intermediate level. Students receive a lot of attention from their instructors. The only drawback is that the training is limited to level one to six and there is no advanced levels so one would have to leave the program at the end of two year training if one wants to master the language at an advanced level. The program is more than enough to prepare an individual to travel comfortably in a Spanish speaking country.

They also build a community by getting all the classes together during the break. I would recommend to anyone! It is is also one of the more affordable Spanish courses in the city.
