Michelle is not only a skilled rider herself but also an excellent a teacher, is patient and encouraging every step of the way. I have been taking lessons with Equinimity and Michelle for 2 years now. Decided as an adult to cross off one of the most important things on my bucket list, learning to ride, and it was the best decision I made to learn from Michelle/Equinimity. The lessons are adaptable based on your comfort/wants, while not sacrificing what is best for the horses. The lessons teach you not only how to ride (soft hands, proper posture, core strength, HEELS DOWN, subtle communication, boundaries, etc) but how to communicate effectively with your equine and build a relationship with them, instead of using them as just another tool or vehicle.
She has taught me ground work, how to put on and care for tack (English and western), horse training methods and the reasoning behind them, basic (and some more specialized) equine care, and most importantly how to be brave and overcome many of my fears!
The trails available for lessons are beautiful and provide the lessons with a staggering amount of diversity in how and what you learn (Crossing streams, going over/around logs, dealing with wildlife, problem solving with your equine).
I love the equines Michelle/Equinimity has available for lessons and the best part is they all thoroughly enjoy their job!

Michelle is a wonderful instructor and I highly recommend her to all who are looking for a fresh prespective on teaching horsemanship and building confidence in new riders. She does not lecture or take autonomy away from beginners, but guides from a distance while making sure everyone is safe! She is firm, but kind, and let's students take ownership of their learning process.

I’ve been taking lessons with Michelle since October and am thoroughly enjoying it! She is a very patient instructor & so knowledgeable about horses and is always offering some interesting facts and stories. I love the way Michelle has her lessons structured with plenty of time to enjoy just being with a horse, grooming & tacking up before heading out on a ride through the beautiful trails. One can tell that the safety of the riders & horses are of utmost importance to Michelle. She keeps an experienced eye on the riders at all times & helps you to gain confidence & improve upon skills along the way. What started out as just taking some riding lessons has turned into a new lifelong passion for me and that’s because of Michelle!

When I got a new youngster early 2024, I knew I would need help. In came Michelle as she was already helping a couple other horses on the farm. She got my boy fit and in shape and we were able to acheive the goals we planned.

I started taking lessons with Michelle in the fall and love every minute of it! I like her gentle methods and have learned to listen to my equnie partner better. And we have so much fun everytime.

Michelle has been teaching my daughter for the past 2 months. And has helped her be so much more confident on a horse and teach her so many new skills. My daughter looks forward to her lesson every week and talks about how amazing it was. They take the horses out onto the trail so there is so much to see and learn along the way. Michelle's horses are all amazing ....especially Dodger. I would highly recommend Equineimity to anyone looking for fun lessons not just in an arena.

There are no words for Michelle's talent. Her horsemanship is like none other. I was very close to giving up on my mare who had rearing tendencies and had thrown me badly 3 times since I got her a year before. Michelle was able to understand my horse's needs and work with her. She was able to communicate with her and work with her on another level. I highly recommend Michelle for horse training and lessons.
