I don’t know where to even begin on praising Families Matter Society, this incredible and amazing resource is truly a Godsend to whoever is in need of it.

My partner and I had our first baby with no family or support around us here in Calgary. We had tough battles which we had to overcome in our postpartum journey and connecting with Families Matters Society has definitely been a saving grace for us!

My peer support worker Stacey Oakey, connected with me from the beginning and took the time and patience to understand exactly what I was going through as a new father along with all the hardships I was having on my individual postpartum journey. Without her I honestly don’t know how I could have made it this far on my own!!!

It has been almost a year, with Stacey helping, teaching, listening, planning and educating me on dealing with all of my battles. And I cannot ever thank or praise her enough! 10 Stars!!

I highly recommend any family and definitely recommend any new fathers out there who want to get help in your postpartum journey to reach out! It will be the best decision you can make.

Stacey, I will not forget how much you thought me and all the gentle reminders us as father’s who are struggling with our own mental health need!

Family Matters has undeniably been our sanctuary from the very first year of our daughter's life and beyond. Words cannot adequately convey the depth of our gratitude for the extraordinary services they provide.

At Family Matters, we discovered an impressive range of activities for mothers, babies, toddlers, and young children. We participated in a multitude of programs offered this year, and what stands out most is the exceptional professionalism and compassion displayed by their dedicated staff.

Each of the courses we engaged in not only enriched our parenting journey but also helped build connections with families who shared our experiences. These connections quickly blossomed into cherished friendships.

While I couldn't possibly list all the programs that touched our hearts, I recommend exploring gems like Mother Goose, M for Milestones, LENA, and all the baby classes. Meeting the dedicated individuals like Carolina and Meenakshi at Family Matters truly brightened our days.

We're so glad to have found this resource! My children have participated in their cooking classes as well as nature walk camps. Both of them enjoyed their classes thoroughly. The facilitators/ teachers are caring, fun and engaging! The organizers did an amazing job at the Nature walk and there was always a clear channel for communication. Best of all their classes were free which was a nice surprise. I would recommend Families Matter to everyone!

I really appreciate the program offerings that Families Matter has. One unique program is Peace through breath and rest where the facilitator guides us through a relaxation session for an hour. It really is a treat to have this time carved out to focus on relaxation and rest which moms do not frequently get. Catherine does a fantastic job and I always feel rested and even sometimes fall asleep even before the Zoom session ends. Every session is slightly different in that she introduces different breathing exercises, body scan and awareness, etc. Highly recommend these classes for anyone, especially tired and exhausted moms who have insomnia (whether it be falling asleep or staying asleep) or don't have a chance to catch a break. I have found myself trying to implement some of the exercises and concepts during the day when I've been stressed out or overwhelmed and holding too much tension in my body.

Families matter offers fabulous programs and drop in sessions that are highly recommended to those who are seeking baby-parents opportunities. I’ve joined several programs and received useful resources that I can apply to day-to-day parenting. Staff is awesome, friendly and knowledgeable. They always welcome us with big smiles!

ELAC program has been very helpful for my daughter. I learnt ways to academically enhance my daughter's skill set. The teachers are very knowledgeable.
