Just did my basic first aid course yesterday. This was my very first time getting certified and I was sightly nervous going into it. But luckily it went way better than I expected. My class was taught by instructor Heba. She did a very good job demonstrating every skill and her teaching was very easy to understand and was well paced. We ended up finishing 1 hour early too which was nice. By the end I felt great about my ability to do CPR and use an AED which I was particularly worried about before class. Finally although I asked many questions during the class the instructor happily answered each one until she confirmed I understood. For those wondering I took the blended version of the class (half in person and half online). Would recommend to anyone re-certifying or getting certified for the first time.

I did my standard cpr course on June 22/24 with Heba, and honestly I am very disappointed. First, the instructor was 23 minutes late to our course, there were like 15 people all waiting in a very small and hot hallway with no access to a bathroom. I ended up calling the head office to make sure she was still going to show up, they said it was “highly unusual” for an instructor to show up this late. When Heba finally did arrive, she said that she had twisted her ankle, but was walking and going up the stairs just fine -Now, I am not saying that she didn’t actually get hurt, but it didn’t seem like it should have made her 20+ min late to her own class. When we finally did start (almost 40 min past the original start time) she seemed very knowledgeable but the class was not very engaging, and she kept rambling on about random topics. Heba also took her shoe off for maybe 30min during the class and was telling us about how her foot was hurting her, but the foot didnt look injured, but it was just kinda gross that she had her whole foot out in our course. I did my last course with First Aid 4 U, and had a very different experience with the instructor named Raafat at the Mississauga location, he kept the class engaged and was very funny. I don’t think this company is bad per say, but some instructors are definitely better than others. Also, something to note, the facility is not very impressive. There were small folding tables and folding chairs, and the floors didn’t look very clean. One of the participants said that the last time they did their course here, they were in the other room with no chairs or tables, so I got lucky on that end. The bathroom was clean though. Their equipment was so/so, some of the cpr manikins were in rough condition, and their heads were falling off. Anyway, for $140 dollars I was definitely not impressed.

Melvyn was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, very practical, very engaging. Would highly recommend. Had as good of a time as you can on a sunny Saturday inside!
