The only reason this gets 3 stars is because the staff are friendly and easy to chat with, but the wait time is horrible.

I went in at 10am on Monday morning because I had chest tightness, shortness of breath, dizziness, and fatigue. As soon as I walked in, they did some tests like heart rate, blood work, and an EKG. I waited a few more hours before being called to get X-rays done.

I was back in my seat by 2pm and waited there until 5pm when I was finally called to a room. I then sat there for 3.5 hours waiting for the doctor. More nurses came in and did more tests in the meantime.

I finally met the doctor, who was awesome. It turns out I had an asthma attack, combined with a chest cold and the cold weather played a factor. So everything was good, and I was going home...10 hours later. I spent 10 hours in the ER, 3.5 of those waiting for the doctor while I was in a room. I understand my case might not have been an emergency after all the tests were done, but come and tell me. Don't make me wait 3.5 hours just to say, "you have asthma." By the way, I knew I had asthma, I had it before... it just never acted up like this before.

Like I said, the staff were great and I appreciate the number of tests they did, but seriously...10 hours? Maybe get a couple more doctors to work in the ER or something. People shouldn't have to wait that long.

I am so grateful for the care I received at the Emerg here. I was in really bad shape and they were able to get me in right away.

The nurse was so empathetic and kind, the rad tech was great, and the ER physician [Dr. Hamdan] was knowledgeable and helpful. They took my concerns seriously.

Also, my wife misplaced her backpack and the security staff walked around the entire facility until they found us to return it. I hope I never need to come back, but thank you all from the bottom of my heart, you're all amazing.

I went for a CT scan and had an amazing experience. Amanda, Rob, and Camden made my experience so easy. I am a very anxious person and they made me feel at ease. The scan was quick and manageable. Thank you very much everyone.

I was admitted at FSCH and my stay was pleasant thanks to RN Vanessa, RN Deborah, RN Shiloh and RN Erletta (I think I have her name incorrect spelt). Theses nurses are so patient and kind. They really do care about the patient.

Nurse Vanessa and Shiloh I spent most time with. These two ladies are amazing and I wish them all the best in their career.

6 Hours waiting with a newborn to see a doctor. Ended up leaving..
The best part is arriving and registering with triage, only to have a convicted criminal (handcuffed and all) that arrived after us with 2 correctional officers be called in before us. I don't care what the reasoning behind that is, that's just twisted.

I called 911 at 9:30 this morning due to very bad chest pain, dizziness, lightheadedness and nausea. The ambulance brought me to this hospital. I have been here for 6 hours i wasn’t in a room but I was in the hallway. The head nurse on shift today kicked me out to the waiting room and said to me “you are use to this pain aren’t you” to which I told her I am used to my back pain but that’s not why I am here, I am here for chest pain, dizziness and lightheadedness. Well the head nurse couldn’t care less and sent me to the waiting room anyways. So clearly if you have really bad chest pain they don’t care here and will kick you to the waiting room. Even if your arms are numb and it hurts to breathe. If you were having a heart attack you would be screwed because they wouldn’t care either way. So not happy with how they are today. The head nurse I wish I would have gotten her name was extremely rude.

Great hosptial to have for locals and those who don't want the big city wait times. Went in early in the morning for a foot injury (miss stepped off a ladder) and all staff members I interacted with were very kind. Comeing from a town of simular size where an 8 hour wait in triage is considered short and atleast another 2 hours before a doctor sees you much less the wait for anything else like xrays, I was pleasently impressed to be in and out within 3 hours after requireing both xrays and a ct scan.

I love coming to FSH, the nurses are very nice and the wait time is less than an hour. Honestly don't know why this place has less than 5-star ratings. I live in Edmonton about 30-40 minutes away, I honestly prefer driving that long than waiting in Edmonton hospital home for 8-12 -24 hours, if you're looking for fewer waiting home times. FSH is the best place to come. Have had amazing experiences going to FSH.
