The staff was amazing!
I have never been in a place where the staff has been so professional and courteous, within a few hours of arrival they all knew my name. From the welcome drinks to the complimentary loungewear. Everything was just as I expected. The staff never missed a moment to ask how I was feeling, or to check on the simple things, like my blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature, to ensure that I was a the peak levels of comfort and relaxation.
One of the things I really enjoyed was the in resort rickshaw service, they never made me walk anywhere, I just said hey I need to use the restroom and boom a little rickshaw showed up to sweep me off to my destination! They even woke me up several times a night to make sure my sleep was restful. The room service even showed up automatically in piping hot dishes, even the jello! Let’s not forget the great resort activities like: wiggle your toes for me, what’s your pain scale (number games are my personal favourite ) and can you sit up for me? Hours and hours of fun! I t’s the smallest of details that set GR Baker apart from other all inclusive resorts!
Now for the not so good:
As I was staying on the third floor, I was very close to the family side of the resort, probably due to the expansion going, which I heard is an amazing grotto and swim-up bar for the adults only side. The constant screaming of mothers at all hours was a bit off putting as I go on vacation to escape the sounds of little feet and the day to day child care experiences I have at home. Hopefully with the expansion to the adults only side this will improve for future visits.
I was also gained a new roommate part way through my stay which was a bit awkward because he was very high maintenance and not willing to do a thing for himself, he even demanded off resort food to supplement his, what I can only assume was the kosher option meals. He had many complaints but I know from the level of service I received he won’t have a leg to stand when it comes to getting a discount on his stay.
All I can say is well done to all the staff on cabana level three and bravo!!! Highly recommended! The details they pick up on is truly above and beyond! Watch out Sandals these guys are right on your tail!
