Ron and his team are very professional and very enthusiastic about sharing/ teaching their passion of scuba diving. Ron help my daughter get her open water cert and it's very clear he is great with instructing kids. My daughter and I joined the "zombie apocalypse" dive today and experienced a fun way to help clean up a community lake.
Thank you Ron and staff for all your great energy and effort to help get us to see/ enjoy a new underwater world! I highly recommend going to see Generation wave scuba for any of your scuba needs.

My 11 year old son has been with Generation Wave since Ron and Ken opened. He started here and has now achieved his junior open water, drysuit and Zombie apocalypse PADI certifications. They have treated him like family since the beginning and he absolutely loves the instruction and all of the dives that Generation Wave has offered. The Generation Wave Scuba team is incredible. It is clear they love to dive and to share that love with others. My 10 year old son joined the PADI Seal Team and says “it is the best thing ever!”. He has had a blast learning to dive with them. Felt safe and had fun the entire time. Can’t wait to continue to learn more through them and eventually obtain Open Water PADI Cert. He’s already making plans to join a diving trip haha. The Seal Team course through Generation Wave was an amazing intro to diving through fun and play. Great little group of fellow divers too.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Generation Wave Diving and was absolutely blown away by the expertise and professionalism of Ronald Nelson, the owner and instructor. My family and I trusted Ronald to teach our 10-year-old daughter how to scuba dive, and he exceeded all our expectations.

As a mother, I was naturally concerned about the safety of my child while engaging in such a skill-intensive activity. However, Ronald's commitment to prioritizing safety and creating a fun learning environment immediately put my mind at ease. He took the time to explain every aspect of scuba diving, ensuring that both my husband and I fully understood the procedures as well.

What truly stood out was Ronald's encouragement for our entire family to dive together. It was an incredible bonding experience for us, and we felt a strong sense of trust and confidence in his abilities. He made sure that each of us felt comfortable and supported throughout the entire process.

Additionally, I must mention an extraordinary act of kindness that Ronald extended to us. We had planned a holiday to Vancouver Island, and coincidentally, Ronald was also scheduled to be there during the same dates. When I called him to inquire about scheduling our daughter's open water dives, he suggested that we complete them on the island instead. He even went above and beyond by adjusting his own departure date to ensure that our daughter could complete her pool work. This level of dedication and flexibility truly impressed us.

Overall, I cannot recommend Generation Wave Diving and Ronald Nelson enough. His expertise, commitment to safety, and ability to create a fun and inclusive learning environment have left a lasting impression on our family. Ron and his team not only go above and beyond but to be able to make my little girls dream come true is a feeling you simply cannot put into words.
The look on the kids face when they realize they can breathe under water is incredible, not to mention the level of expertise in the instructions Ron and his team deliver is bar none I’ve ever seen before.

To say I’ll be back again is an understatement I’m shocked he got my daughter out of the pool to be honest.

The Instant we got in the truck the YouTube started going looking at what she can see under water and is looking forward to every step of the way in learning.

THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! Went in with my sister about a month and a half ago to talk with Ron, who runs the shop, as I was very curious about getting my PADI Open Water certification and wanted to know how the whole thing worked. Ron was absolutely fantastic and walked us through the whole thing. He was so encouraging and patient with us throughout the entire journey, whether we were in the pool training or preforming our skill sets in the ocean. It was such a quick and easy process to get our certification and we are very excited to now be apart of such an amazing community. Ron and every single other instructor/dive master there took such time and care to make sure we were comfortable (I may have had a few panic attacks 😅 but they took me through it each time and never made me feel rushed or insecure about my fears). I would highly recommend this shop to anyone I know looking to join the amazing dive community we have found through Generation Wave Scube.

Ron and his team ran a special program for younger children not eligible for PADI. My son loves the ocean so we thought it would be great to check out the program. We were just window shopping but when we met Ron we were signed up right away. You won’t meet a more passionate and patient group of divers anywhere. Scuba is a wonderful passion but putting our 9 yr old in a scuba program was still terrifying for us. First day in training put us completely at ease. The safety and guidance provided was excellent. They always had someone within arms reach to make sure our son felt supported every step of the way. The effort put into preparing the Equiptment prior to class was also impressive. They even built a ship wreck for the pool with a treasure hunt to put the new skills to use. The conservation training and the course material including the national graphics book and certification was also incredible. We now have a Seal Team graduate ready and prepared to get his Padi certificate when he turns 10. We highly recommend anyone looking to scuba to meet Ron and his team.

Where i do i start? I have so much love to give to these people! GWS has been incredible to me and my family. After an unfortunate experience at a different dive shop we came to Ron to finish the open water course and dry suit diver. A year later and i’ve just completed advanced diver in Comox! Ron and Ken are kind, patient, and very funny. I can’t wait to keep learning and diving at GWS! Definitely come here for any scuba diving needs ❤️
