I had an extremely bad experience with TLNT (TALENTED TECHNOLOGY TRAINING CANADA) also named GIC. I registered for a course for PEng technical exam preparation. The instructor's location was in India and he never had experience teaching this course for the PEng exam. Despite that he mentioned at the beginning of the course that he has taught the course for PEng but when I asked for sample questions to solve during the course, he just gave me very simple examples. After I searched by myself and found the questions, I asked him to solve them during the course but he couldn't. When I asked him a question, he finished the class right away and did not answer the question. When I contacted the administration, I realized she is also out of Canada. When I asked her about her location, she said "she is travelling right now!". Do not recommend them at all.

I recently took the PSV Fundamentals Course at their location and I was not very impressed, and would not recommend GIC to fellow coworkers. The main things they need to improve is the course location (should be located at a hotel conference room so that everything is provided by the hotel), and ensure all technical systems are up and running and operating and rehearsed with the Instructor well before people show up for the course.

In regards to the Facility - Their building is actually SAGA Engineering (I assume the owner owns both SAGA and GIC, and runs both businesses out of the same building), and there is only a little sign in their window indicating GIC, so it was difficult to determine if I was in the right location at first. The parking is horrible, since there really isn't any. They indicate there was parking in the back but it's more of a loading area and even though we were told we could park there, one of the students was yelled at by one of the business neighbors that they would be towed if they parked there again. We then had to figure out on our own where to park (down the street about a block away). There was no mention of this issue when registering for the course! The facility itself was ok, but probably not what most expect out of a professional course (usually held in a hotel conference room, in my experience). It is in a little space that is older but they have created a little boardroom for courses. It was not a good first impression and I could also see it on the face of the other person who was attending the course that they felt the same. There was only 3 of us (including the instructor) but if there was 6 or more it might start to get cramped. They provided a little are with food and drink, and a little coffee maker (which needed to be unplugged if heating water for tea). One issue I also had is that it didn't look like the bathroom was cleaned in some time; not a professional image. In regards to how the training was "set up" (See below for review on the instructor/course.), again I wasn't too impressed. It was obviously the first time the instructor worked with GIC, as he seemed as confused as me. They had a laptop set up for him to use (it was also set up as a webinar) but there was multiple issues (there was one person with GIC helping but by no means an expert) and the course started about an hour late because of it. Also the instructor hadn't used the webinar software before so he was lost and the GIC person didn't give a very good overview to him. Because of that I am sure the people on the webinar did not get their money's worth and must have been very frustrating for them.

The Course/Instructor - The instructor and the course content was typical for the courses I have taken in the past. Although, I felt he rushed through a lot of things (maybe because we were behind). I tried to ask question often for things he didn't review and he seemed to be able to answer them with no issue. I think the course could easily be 3 days since there are many codes and standards that relate. It would be a good course for someone starting out in the field, but if you know a large amount then the course would be boring. I am in the middle and there was a lot I knew already but it was good to learn some of the details.

Overall I think with a few adjustments GIC could be a good training organization but I don't think they are there yet.

Headline: I paid $1000 to read a course text that isn't even spell-checked. Where is the value in that?

I took the PRD fundamentals distance learning course.

Pro (only one): The instructor was approachable and accommodating to my odd schedule.

Cons: Too many to count. Course material was vague and incomplete.
It was redundant, ill-explained and discursive. The case studies were rushed over and lacked detail. There was no derivation from first principles and little information about inlet and outlet piping design.

To the reader of this review, do yourselves a favour and subscribe to Scribd. You will get more from 2 hours on Scribd than 2 days in this course. Such a great disappointment. I am embarrassed to admit I went to this institution for any sort of technical knowledge.

My name is Oleg Buglak and I am Engineer-in-Training with PEO. I decided to take the online course: Applied Thermodynamics - S1, the name of the teacher: Prafful Mangal.

It didn't help me AT ALL! I paid 1045CAD and the information given by the teacher didn't have anything to do with the exam questions. My result was: 7%, compared to my previous result when I was preparing by myself: 27%.

Don't recommend anybody to take courses from this company!

Buyer beware! Look elsewhere for actual professional development! Global Innovative Campus appears to be connected to an engineering company. Both companies appear to be independent, but they have the same address. In my opinion there is some unethical and unprofessional behaviour happening here by offering incomplete and useless courses, in which the presenter advertises his engineering company for solutions instead of providing actual training and complete, independent solutions (as was promised in the course outline). Professional Members depend on institutions like this one to fulfill the requirements of Professional Development as outlined by their professionial association. I paid over $1,000 for a course that was incomplete, of terrible quality, and without any useful knowledge. It provided only few and incomplete examples done with proprietary software, and it referred to the presenter's engineering company for help with any engineering and design. Here, I wanted to enhance my engineering knowledge through professional training and development, and not be referred to the presenter's engineering company to pay them for doing the design work for me. Nothing of which was promised on the course outline had been provided or achieved. The pesenter has also not addressed the issues that were brought forward by other attendees of the course. Instead, he has chosen to ignore all complaints so far. GIC also does not appear to have an official complaint process, leaving people in the dark after their money has been taken. I highly recommend to look elsewhere for actual Professional Development, and I think that this institution needs to be further investigated. Clearly, the Continuing Professional Development program needs an approval process of licensed companies to do the training, and some form of monitoring of these companies and individuals that provide CPD, to make sure that they deliver what they promise. So far, it seems that some people and institutions have taken advantage of a business model of "selling" CPD hours to people.

Would not recommend to anyone. They frequently failed to notify registrants of scheduling changes. I also did not find the instruction added anything significant to the written course materials, most of which contained information readily available for free online. Money would've been far better spent elsewhere.
