I can't say enough good things about the staff at Great Lakes Christian High School. My son is in grade nine this year. He was apprehensive about starting high school, not having gone to a local public elementary school for grade 8. But the teachers and staff at GLCHS made him feel safe and comfortable.

Moreover, they have gone above and beyond expectations to help our son succeed academically through regular communication, caring, and understanding.

Having taught for 20 years myself, I would recommend the school to anyone looking for a rewarding high school experience for their child.

We came to Great Lakes recently from the public school system and it has been an absolutely wonderful experience. I no longer worry about the quality of my son's education. Great Lake's academics are impressive and my son benefits from caring Christian teachers in smaller classes. Progress communication home to parents is amazing and frequent so should there be a problem, it can be addressed immediately. The school has been extremely warm and welcoming and my son loves his new school. I would highly recommend!

Coming to Great Lakes after experiencing another (much bigger) public high school first, it felt like a breath of fresh air. The personal attention and family atmosphere were completely unlike anything we'd experienced before in any of our children's schools. The staff are caring, and the academics are exactly what we were looking for. The school has been a great, safe place for two of our children last year, and we look forward to a few more great years with another child coming up the ranks.

My daughter transferred to Great Lakes for 2nd semester of grade 9 and she is loving the students, teachers, and the challenging curriculum. The small school allows for more one-on-one time with the teachers and has enabled her to meet almost everyone in the school within the first week of attending.

I have found that the teachers and administrative staff are completely invested in making sure my daughter excels in her studies and is on track to get into the university program she desires.

Joining a new school mid-year with only 15 grade 9s and already having completed 7 high school credits could have posed a very large challenge for the guidance counsellor but she handled the scheduling with ease.

I starting attending Great Lakes in grade 11. The community here is amazing, I made instant friendships and started doing school activities like student council and sports teams. The teachers here are very supportive and are very accessible for help when needed. Attending Great Lakes was the greatest decision.

The best decision we made was to send our children to Great Lakes. The teachers & staff acting in loco parentis are stellar. They are dedicated, observant, approachable & most importantly: Christ-centred in and out of school. They certainly do meet the criteria for whom helps us raise our teens. The academic program is rigorous and the curriculum expectations are thoroughly covered. This is a little gem of a high school.

I attended Great Lakes for grade 11 and 12 and it was one of the best times in my life. I came from a city highschool of over 1200 kids, teachers didn't know you well, kids were judemental and mean and education was mediocre
Great Lakes was small, the teachers cared and took the time to help and the students were and still are some of my best friends. The education was superb and I had no trouble getting into the university's of my choice. Overall my expereince at GL was monumental in my walk with God and my future.
Oh...and the fun....it was so much fun. Having a small amount of students makes it so easy to meet people and when you are friends with pretty much everyone in your school, you just can't wait to get their in the morning.
My daughter is starting grade 11 at Great Lakes in the fall, I can't wait for her to be a part of that family.
