Huge thanks to Heartwood who made our dreams come true! We came upon this company at a charity golf tournament. The entire process was seamless and quite frankly, fun! We recently moved into a fully renovated bungalow, but the great room was dark and the fireplace was not our style. Joal and Jennifer really listened to our wish list and their vision was brought to reality in a timely manner. Our renovation was not a big one, but a very impactful one. Shout out to our Project Manager, Patrick, and Master Carpenters Gary and Adam. The entire staff were great to work with! I would not hesitate to recommend this Team!

We had an exceptional experience working with Harper Designs and Heartwood Renovations/ Heartwood Kitchens on our main floor renovation. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless, efficient, and mostly stress-free. They truly understood our vision for our main floor renovation and helped us create a space that is both functional and beautiful.

Patrick, our project manager, was fantastic—he explained every detail thoroughly, keeping us informed at every step. Their attention to detail was outstanding. Every contractor who worked in our home was professional, respectful, and highly skilled. I also loved their project management app, which kept all our selections organized and provided a clear daily schedule of what was happening during construction.

After the final walk-through the owners Joel and Nick from Heartwood Renovations and Jaclyn from Harper Design came to our house for our final retrospective. This was an opportunity to go over the whole project and respectfully discuss things that went well, things that could’ve gone better, and things that didn’t go well. This demonstrated a commendable dedication to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

We couldn’t be happier with the final result! We highly recommend Heartwood Renovations and will definitely use them again for future projects.

So very happy with the end results. The designer did a great job of making the kitchen feel totally different. The whole project from start to finish was very easy to navigate around everything. Patrick the project manager was very easy to talk to, popped in all the time to make sure we were happy & to voice any concerns we had. Overall everything moved well & finished right on the day they said. It would. I would give them a 10/10. Communication is key. The first two pictures before, the last two after. I’m a great believer you get what you pay for. All the trades very friendly & cleaned up afterwards.

We were referred to Heartwood by a friend from another reno company oddly enough. They knew that the scope of work would be best served by a one stop shop like heartwood who can do kitchens and everything else. We did 3 full bathrooms, laundry room, kitchen and basement flooring. Our project lasted 5 months in total once all the small things were finished. Upon meeting Joal and Taylor, we appreciated their professionalism and Taylor’s wonderful design ideas. They are a very sought after business with lots of projects to quote and their quotes are very detailed so be prepared to wait 2-3 weeks. Their pricing was reasonable, was within our budget and their showroom really blew us away. It was nice to be able to see the kitchen materials and 3D rendering. Once the project started, Nick took over and had everything lined up for our desired start date. There were a few surprises once demo started but that’s to be expected. Nick wanted to make sure things were done right and would last. The only thing that would be nice to have as a client would be a checklist of items we have to buy ourselves. We were surprised by a few items that we had to scramble to buy last minute which was stressful.
There were multiple issues however.
In our kitchen island sink, a simple fitting was not glued and we had a leak coming down into our basement as a result. The plumbers did fix it right away but this was a nuisance as the ceiling had to be cut open, re-drywalled, taped and painted.
The other issue was with the ceiling vents in our bathroom. They were never properly connected to the roof vents. This caused condensation to come onto the ceiling.
Nick took care of a number of things for us which did not go unnoticed. Heartwood is here for long term relationships with their clients, not one and done transactions. We plan on doing a few more things with Heartwood. Taylor in particular deserves a mega shout out. This girl is outstanding at what she does and one of heartwood's biggest assets. Design and selections are a difficult process but she made it easy and brought our spaces to life. The heartwood workers (Dave, Jordan, Matt, Liam, sorry if I’m forgetting anyone) are kind, professional and take care of whatever needs you have with a smile. Even coming back to fix the smallest things like a towel holder, they did it with a smile. These guys are coming into your home and are very respectful. The sub trades that heartwood uses are also well vetted. Nardi in particular are top notch electricians and very professional. They clean up after themselves which is rare in the industry. Joal, Nick, Isaac, Taylor and Marina - thank you so much for taking all our calls and really caring about our home like it was yours. The culture Joal and Nick have instilled in their team is that of caring for the client and professionalism. We are a high maintenance client with endless questions and they didn’t once show any sign of being frustrated with us. They know Renos like ours are challenging and stressful for the homeowner. Joal and Nick would always get back to us even late at night or weekends. If you go with heartwood, you will be well taken care of and get a great end result. However with a company like this that is in very high demand, you’ll have to just be patient as they have lots of projects on the go and getting sub trades to come do things can be challenging at times. However good things come to those who wait though. Finally the 5 year warranty is outstanding and rare in the industry. They stand behind their work and that’s the biggest thing.
