I attempted to return an item at Home Hardware in Fort Saskatchewan that I had purchased from the Fort McMurray location just a week prior. The item still had its original tag and had never been wrapped, yet the staff member said I had removed the packaging. Despite having the receipt and the item being in perfect condition, they refused to process the return. The employee's attitude was condescending from the moment I walked in. This was a very disappointing experience—especially frustrating that a chain store does not accommodate returns across locations, even when the product is in its original state.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff here. Well worth the short trip out of the city for me. Granted I didn't find everything I needed for my building project (only some) but the gentleman that helped me even offered up another local store or two (competitors?) as possible alternatives. Putting customer needs first is how I read that. It's the type of service that makes me reminiscent of my days living in a small town and is often found lacking in some (not all) big box stores. Highly recommend people consider throwing some business their way and consider supporting locally owned first before diving into the bigger chains Even though I didn't find everything in my one visit, the service alone easily earned 5 stars.

Nice small town store with awesome staff

I came in to exchange the wrong tile adhesive that was recommended to us from a staff member. We were told by the installer it was wrong. We couldn't find the receipt but had the date and time it was purchased with the sales tag on the item. The cashier no customer service what so ever told me she couldn't look up the receipt, couldn't do an exchange or anything. Suggested I go to a different home hardware to see if they would. I again asked about going to that date and pulling up the receipt and she said she couldn't and I asked what about a manager. So instead of offering to have a manager come to the front it was suggested I walk to the back of the store to find one on my own and see if they could help. If that's what home hardware classifiys as customer service I definitely won't be back.

The home hardware in Fort Saskatchewan has very friendly staff who are eager to help you find what you are looking for. When we moved to the Fort, Home Hardware included a gift in the city Welcome Wagon package. But I would have to say one of the best parts is the popcorn they give you in store!

Don't order anything online. If it's defective you're supposed to return it then buy another one and your alight will be credited within a week. The online ordering support is only open M-F from 8-4 EST. Just avoid this chain like the plague.
