As a current student at SAIT, I can say that this school truly excels in delivering a high-quality, hands-on education. The instructors are knowledgeable and approachable, often bringing valuable industry experience into the classroom. The facilities are also impressive, with modern equipment and resources that give students a taste of real-world work environments. Each program is designed with a strong focus on practical skills, which I believe will give me a competitive edge in my future career.

However, one downside I’ve experienced is the cost. The tuition fees are quite high, which can be challenging for students who are balancing studies with financial responsibilities. Despite the cost, I feel that the quality of education and the opportunities available, such as internships and industry connections, make it a worthwhile investment. SAIT provides an enriching learning experience, and although the financial aspect is tough, I believe it’s preparing me well for the workforce.

SAIT offers a great hands-on learning experience, especially in the Hospitality and Tourism Management program. The instructors bring real industry knowledge, making the courses practical and engaging. The campus has excellent facilities, and the career-focused approach helps with real-world skills and networking. Balancing studies with work can be challenging, but SAIT provides great support. Overall, it’s a great choice for anyone looking to build a strong foundation in hospitality and tourism.

If it wasn't for the amazing teachers I have in refrigeration I would never go back and it would be 1 star.
Broken elevators, a ton of broken Escalators.
It's not the school of construction it's the school of broken. They will waste your time doing Mandatory Orientation that could be completed on your own time before school, should just have to watch a video. Orientation is in another building, across town. You will lose two hours of Valuable in class
instruction time and they ask for no feed back because they know everyone is mad.
Information to give you is outdated, gave us information on grants from the government that is no longer applicable. Funniest outdated part was when they told us, you can [email protected] and book an appointment for help with applying for grants or Financial help. Only times available was back in Nov. it is now Jan. In other words, they forgot to update it or they don't offer it! Gave us lunch time at 10am lol when nothing is open. School is in a desire state of repair, Constant bathroom Sanitary or Plumbing issues.

Go anywhere else, seriously!
I recently tried to withdraw from a course in my program due to a medical injury, and they denied it. I had a severe back injury and went to the doctor to get the form filled out to withdraw.

The doctor filled out the form and clearly noted on it that I had a back injury and I couldn't return to class for 2 weeks. Mind you; this was a 4-week practicum. As such, even if I had to miss 1 day, I would have to withdraw from it. The doctor told me that regardless of my injury, that is the maximum allowable time she can write me off for, which is understandable.

Then I sent the form in, but they denied it as it needed to be written for 4 weeks. The doctor wrote in the form that she could write for a maximum of 2 weeks, but if they needed more, they should still be able to use this form. It's an absolutely ridiculous school, a waste of time and money. Go to any other school in Calgary, and you'll get treated like a human.

The classes at SAIT are taught very poorly, and most instructors either don't care or have a glaring sign of obvious incompetence in their field of instruction and signs of inexperience that result in very poor learning outcomes.

I recently received funding through Alberta Student Aid, but their processing times were incredibly slow, and they kept requesting additional information and verification. On top of that, SAIT sent me an email at 6 p.m. on a Friday (after their 4 p.m. closure) informing me that classes starting on January 6 were canceled and to contact them on Monday to resolve the issue. This caused unnecessary stress and confusion.

While I eventually got back into the program, I found that the classes I needed were already full. It feels like a tactic to make students miss class, forcing them to pay extra. I specifically registered for those classes due to health issues, but SAIT showed no concern for students with health challenges. Be cautious before paying for their services, as it seems they prioritize profit over student well-being. Based on my experience, I would give them 1 star and highly discourage others from enrolling.

Straight A student here.

SAIT is Absolutely the worst. Paid for a year and had nothing but trouble with 65% of the teachers and 5 admin in 2 departments.

This school has systemic issues.
Unqualified, unprepaired, incompetent teachers...most are not responsive. Weeks to reply is ridiculous when working with deadlines.

Admin staff that take ZERO ownership of an issue and you get bounced around between sick people and those on vacation for MONTHS.

Students are compartmentalized, silenced and are spit out with no recourse.

Expect.

High fees. Even though massive online Scaling has emensily reduced cost.
No refunds ( next term credit only)
Forced student insurance (even if you have)
Expect admin to work with you 50% through your issue then sluff you off to another person so you have to start over...losing weeks.

You will be alone, feel alone, be left behind and feel ripped off.

I will actively NEVER consider any student from SAIT for employment from now on. It's that bad.

Maybe try UofC? Anyone?

Been taking an automotive apprenticeship program here at the Clayton Caroll building.

Let me just say the teachers are fantastic, the material is standardized but they do an incredible job delivering it. The amount of help offered, and then received, on a multitude of issues, is immaculate.

In short, I'd highly recommend attending SAIT if you are inquiring about attending the AST or ASTP courses. Although I can't exactly speak for AST as I'm in ASTP.

My only gripe is the campus facilities. The cafeteria is pretty lack luster, with only a handful of options to choose from, and the prices aren't exactly competitive.
