Okay, the owner replied and I do not wish to contact them because I have found an amazing dentist in Winnipeg.
I was going to Life Smiles in Selkirk for about 4 appointments before my current doc and I HIGHLY recommend them over this place if you can't travel to Winnipeg...
...But if you can 224 Dental on Henderson is where I have been going.TV on the ceiling, HIGHLY compassionate and personable doctor, 10/10 staff!
TO THE REVIEW:
So, I had only ever been to this dentist since I was a child (had to go to Mark Rykiss for braces but other than that ONLY here), had Dr. Shirley way back in the day, he has since retired.
If you have ONLY gone here I urge you go to ANYWHERE else; 224 dental will blow your mind mind on how enjoyable the dentist experience can be because this place is NOT a good experience (imo) and I wish I had known this!
I come from deep poverty, my teeth have always been bad (they formed with lots of natural cavities and my parent did not fulfil their duties on dental hygeine responsibilities), my teeth were always painful, breaking, I didn't know how to care for them and could NEVER afford the dentist.
What prompted this one-star review was I was starting a new job and was having SEVERE wisdom teeth pain and needed them OUT - WITH TIME FOR RECOVERY BEFORE STARTING THIS NEW JOB. A receptionist had called to re-schedule me, and we agreed on a later date, but with JUST enough time to recover before I started my job.
I did NOT want to be in pain or recovery during my first week on the job and I definitely did NOT want to push back my start date or take time off.
So I show up at the time that I was RESCHEDULED FOR, it was in the afternoon, I had wrote it down and put it in my calendar but guess what! seriously, guess... I bet you know where this is going... they didn't put it in their system.
I explained my situation, and was borderline BEGGING this receptionist to have this painful tooth pulled that -at this point- I already had to wait longer than I was originally told (which I understand! you gotta reschedule sometimes, but i was in *PAIN*) and she was like "you don't have an appointment AND you no-called, no showed"
So i pulled up my call log and showed her I had a phone call on the day of my last appointment, the one that got rescheduled and yes, they informed me DAY OF that they had to reschedule) and it was over 2 minutes in length. Before this she had been SUPER insistent that *I* was wrong, mistaken, no-call-no-showy, and there was NO WAY i had an appointment, it was my fault etc, etc,
After I showed her the call log she says "oh.. let me go ask the doctor"
WITHIN EARSHOT she explains the situation (poorly in my opinion because zero emphasis on my pain and THE CLINIC'S MISTAKE) and then asks
"So what do we do"
and the doctor goes
"It's up to you, do you want to work late?"
she comes back and says
"I'm sorry, he can't fit you in today"
I said okay, left, called Life Smiles and had an appointment in 10 minutes i walked through life Smiles door and they pulled the tooth that day.
My new dentist, Yasser Botros, is FABULOUS like, I cannot express how grateful I am for him and his wonderful receptionist Ahmed as well as his warm and welcoming team.
I am literally EXCITED to go to the dentist now.
This place shows ZERO accountability for mistakes and that is NOT how I want someone who is dealing with my oral health to act!!!!
