Dr. Jack Newman and his lactation consultant Jesika completely turned my breastfeeding experience around. At 6 weeks old, they immediately identified my baby’s tongue tie after a lactation consultant, nurse, and family doctor told me there was none. I was close to switching to formula due to severe nipple damage.

After the frenotomy, my baby’s weight gain improved even more, he no longer gets blisters on his lips, and his recovery was very quick. My nipple damage took longer to heal, but I made a complete recovery and am now comfortable and confident breastfeeding.

Their expertise, compassion, and dedication made all the difference for both me and my baby, and I am so glad we came here.

We have now had our second child and have had almost 1.5 years to reflect on our experience with Jack.

Everything was pleasant to start, I met and introduced myself to Jack in the waiting area while he was passing by.

We we brought to a room with a lactation consultant who was also very pleasant and interacted with my wife, infant and myself. We discussed our tongue-tie concerns and wish for an improved latch.

Jack came into the room and began to tell us that we needed to do what he told us in our last visit - mom needs to be on progesterone. We had never been there and I had just 5 minutes prior talked to him in the waiting area. Very very concerning that he can’t keep up with who is actually infront of him.

He proceeded to tell us that he wouldn’t even entertain a tongue tie release unless mom took the drug. Her pumping volumes were more than adequate as he agreed but still said it was a milk supply issue.

His staff seemed uncomfortable when asked the function and side effects of the drug. I asked about Moringa, he scoffed and cited WHO studies saying no proof of efficacy and waste of resources and time. Quite the contradictory statement to the widely known knowledge available, even from the World Health Organization.

This review feels like a rant but it’s been some time so it’s not meant to be retaliatory more as a warning to loving and caring parents. Do your homework.

I hope you find the help or at least the information you need to proceed with what is likely a challenge with your most loved ones.

I owe you all a huge thank you. I have always wanted to breastfeed my baby and experience the bonding that comes with it.

Before your clinic, I asked midwives and a lactation consultant if my daughter had a tongue or lip tie. They all said no, so I kept attending breastfeeding classes, trying to figure out why my baby was sleeping at the breast and why my I supply was so low. She was losing weight and I had to supplement.

Sure enough, you guys diagnose that she had both. You snipped her tongue tie, increased my domperidone, gave us an osteo req. and gave me great breastfeeding tips.

We did formula, bottles, pumping, and tube feeding.

We have officially been exclusively breastfeeding for 6 days!! Her tongue is all healed and she's finished with the osteopath.

I heard your clinic was good but wow. Worth the trip!

I recently visited this clinic, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience!

From the moment I called to book my appointment, Gabriella at the front desk was incredibly warm, informative, and reassuring. She is lovely and helped me book my appointment quickly.

During my visit, I was seen by Jessika, the lactation consultant. She was very attentive and professional, providing excellent information and tips that greatly improved my baby's latching. Jessika's expertise made a significant difference for us.

Dr Newman was also fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, and reassuring, and even cracked some jokes to lighten the mood. His approach made the whole experience much more comfortable.

I would HIGHLY recommend this clinic to any mother looking for support with breastfeeding. The staff is exceptional, and they care they provide is top notch.

They saved my breastfeeding and pumping journey! Jesika helped me with latching techniques, answered all my questions about milk supply, and gave me practical advice I could use at home. She also took the time to find my flange size, worked around my needs, and never made me feel rushed. She also helped me plan ahead for any milk supply concern. So grateful — highly recommend!

This clinic is amazing. This is my second time breastfeeding but I've had so many issues and suffered from mastitis 9 days after birth this time around. I've felt like it was hard to get the proper advice and support I needed to get better. Dr. Newman and the lactation consultant were great in showing me how to make corrections to my babys latch among a bunch of other recommendations. I really felt like they were helping me make a plan catered to me and my baby. 100% if you are having breastfeeding issues I would recommend this clinic. It's hard to find experts in this field, but they definitely are. I'm not sure why there are so many bad Google reviews for this clinic, because they were fantastic. Definitely go to get the help you need.

After struggling with painful breastfeeding for the first two weeks of my son’s life, I was referred to this clinic for support and a suspected upper lip tie. Our experience was absolutely wonderful from booking the appointment through the duration of our visit. We met with a Lactation Consultant student, Maria, who first showed me how to latch properly. With the first try I had my baby feeding with zero pain, which left me in tears of joy. Her patience, guidance, and love has literally changed my life and transformed my entire breastfeeding experience. We also met with the Clinic Manager, Maria, who was absolutely lovely and assisted in addressing my son’s lip tie, as well as discovered that he also had a tongue tie. Within minutes we were greeted by Dr. Weinberg who performed the release of the two ties, which took less than a minute. Our babe was immediately guided back to the breast after the procedure and has shown no signs of discomfort or pain since. The amazing staff at the IBC have completely changed my life and saved me from giving up on breastfeeding. I highly recommend their services to any woman who is struggling to feed their baby pain-free. What an incredible resource to have here in the GTA! Thank you for saving us!

I visited this clinic nearly 7 years ago! That should tell you how badly this experience has stayed with me.

To echo everyone else, yes domperidone is prescribed as the end all be all. There is an air of shame and judgement coming from most of the LCs. You’re made to feel like a failure.

Two things were especially awful. There was a training LC who was allowed to lead my appointment. I was a sleep deprived and 7 day new mom. I didn’t really have time to process or question what happened next. That trainee had her 4 month old child in the room with us who was breastfeeding amazingly. I’m truly happy for that baby and mother but she should have breastfed in another room privately instead of wearing her baby in a wrap and practically feeding hands free. It was incredibly insensitive and inconsiderate.

But the most heinous thing was when the LC asked if my child’s “baby daddy” was in the picture. I said…..”you mean my husband?” She said “oh, I thought that’s what you called them”

Some ppl won’t believe my experience but this is exactly what happened.

They released my daughter’s tongue tie. And at the follow up appt I was looked down upon for continuing to combo feed with formula.

I would never recommend any woman to be subjected to this out dated and full of themselves clinic.

Run and find a more human LC..
