Nice to join a team via Justplay. You can make new friends from different cultures. Share your sport experience and win the game as a team. Wonderful place to join, just a little bit costly for the seasonal.

My experience of playing the sport and the general organisation of games has been overall positive.

It would be great if there was an option to sign up for a season without having to subscribe, but apart from that, the staff are responsive and helpful, and the app is fairly straightforward & user-friendly.

Helpful note: Check the time zone in the app is aligned with the one you’re in!

Poor management and customer service experience.

Had an auto subscription and charged to my account without my knowledge as the emails had gone to spam. At the time I was overseas when this charge occurred, hence I had not noticed it. As I had an injury rendering me unable to play I requested for a refund. I was told that they were unable to do a full refund for it as it was hard for them to find another player (2 weeks aways from the season start). Paid $245 for the season and they could only offer $181 back. The team did offer to put the credit on for another season when I was able to play, however due to financial constraints I requested for a refund.

I was looking forward to playing with them in the future (I even asked them to put the difference of the amount on my account so I could pay it towards another season when I was better), but they completely refused and said credit only or partial refund (due to financial constraints with my injury, which was explained to them, I requested for the full refund amount if possible OR to put the remaining difference on as credit and the $181 as a refund (so I am not a loss).

Honestly just a bit floored with the lack of support and empathy from the customer support that David and the team provided as I was really looking forward to staying on with them in the future.

Truly awful experience from start to finish. I signed up initially and expressed I wanted to be on a competitive team for futsal. The start date of our competition was pushed back almost a month. Then I was put on a team with a few players who have never played before(not the players fault, they are lovely people, but not the level I selected or was lead to believe I would play with). We have had a game cancelled with no notice from justplay, we only found out when we got to the venue and the venue stated they told all teams. No compensation for this missed game, I immediately contacted them and have been waiting a week for the reply. I expressed I wanted to cancel my membership as well but was automatically enrolled into the next session and charged. Awful communication and organization. I am extremely dissapointed by the product and would strongly recommend people to look elsewhere.

I signed up to play in a mixed basketball competition about 3 months ago and today I received a notification from Just Play saying that they can't go ahead with a team for the competition that starts next week. For anyone that is looking to play with a team, just go to your local sports facility and talk directly with the people there as Just Play does not deliver on what they offer. Very disappointed.

I initially only wanted to enquire about what nights and teams had availability for the local touch footy comp but ended up having to fully register details and subsequently charged a full season. They never mentioned the price when the credit charge went through and I thought it was for the shirt only (and I didn't even want to buy that for a simple enquiry).

I wanted to play with my stepson so I had to sign him up too so that we were both allocated to the same team. Was never assigned a team and David from Just Play promised that by email that if I returned the shirts I would get a full refund. He has yet to reply to my follow up emails. What upsets me the most is that the touch footy comp gets branded by Just Plays non-chalant attitude. I like the concept because it's hard to get money from people on the day but Just Play have taken the heart out of social sport. It's turned me right off the comp I wanted to join because I know inevitably Just Play will hit me with more charges that were notified in advance.

Just Play is abymsal.

My experience:

1. The competition I signed up for was due to start in July. The actual start date was 1.5 months delayed, to the end of August. I.e. leading to the competition coinciding with organised leave plans (the original start date would have had the competition conclude, weeks in advanced).

2. Upon arriving at the venue, one of my team mates informed me that the competition had started the week before (when I was informed via text message that the competition had been delayed to today). Effectively, missing a game that was a part of the season purchased.

3. The information provided was scarce; simply listing the venue and team name. We were provided with the wrong court number (yay), this resulted in the entire team being late as we were trying to navigate to the correct court.

4. The competition marketed itself as being "social, mixed" - whilst my team fielded a female (returning to basketball for the first time since COVID), the opposing team was male and playing aggressively - punctuated by one of the players dunking and proceeding to taunt.

5. Relating to point #4, the players and accompanying friends were taunting along with recording / photographing (without permission) the game. Worth noting that they brought their paedestrian-clothed female partner(s)/friend(s) to enjoy the spectacle. What a sight to behold, an organised team of males punching-down on a social mixed team.

6. Visiting the Just Play app and chat service to navigate a quiet refund for a dissatisfactory service, you're met with a, and I'm paraphrasing, "we don't do refunds because we tried".

Edit: Since this review, JustPlay has reached out and offered a full refund. I'm adjusting my rating to account for the prompt response, but my experience still holds true.
