Mid-2000s I was a teen and I had an appointment with the therapist that worked here but the receptionist refused to buzz open the door to let me see her, he asked why I would even be seeing her. You know indigenous youth have the highest $u1c1d3 rates in Canada? Apparently he didn't get the memo. I hope things have changed there and they let kids attend their therapy appointments. I never got any help in Kelowna btw and that's not for a lack of trying. Not until I moved to Calgary in 2018 did I connect with professionals...

I give it a one star rating because the receptionist that is currently there! I phoned there this morning and I simply asked her about getting my taxes done. Just the way she talks to ppl is degrading. She talks to Adults like they were little kids, like they didn't know anything! I don't know how many bad interactions ppl have had with her, but there's times I don't even want to call there because of her! The director, or somebody above her Has to talk to her.

Kelowna Friendship Center is great and hopefully in future will get even better. More funding is needed. Unfortunately, it is in a bad place, so many homeless folks, and there are issues with drugs. Maybe if the government didn't hand out dope across the street and offered rehab, instead, things would be better.
