We had great care at the KCMH for my son who had an open wound. Dr.nick was wonderful with him and the nursing staff was also friendly and efficient. They were very busy with a full waiting room and only one doctor on, and still managed to see and treat all patients with concern and kindness. Hats off to the KCMH medical staff!

A rating of 1 star for the general state of healthcare that desperately needs an overhaul on the island and 5 stars for the hospital staff that did their best with what they have. Averages to 3 stars.

Unfortunately this hospital is victim to a poor clinic system on the island it seems. The er is clogged with issues the hospital shouldn’t have to deal with but with a lack of doctor availability outside the hospital, this facility seems to have to do it all. From a kid with a cough to a severe event.

We tried our best to not go to the hospital for our daughter’s cough that was getting worse over the course of a week. We drove hours to find and get into walk in clinics but they were all either closed or full. Had no choice but to use the hospital.

Or condition was very minor and as a result we waited over 6 hours while watching others come and go. It’s the nature of triage, I get it. Once we saw a doctor he was fantastic.

Do better P.E.I. Government. These nurses and doctors need you to do better so they can do better.

Ridiculously horrible emergency room. We had to wait more than 6 (!!!) hours before we were seen by a doctor. There was just one doctor on duty which is appalling considering the fact that it is a medical center. We paid more than $1000 in cash to spend all day of our vacation waiting in this terrible so-called "emergency room" to just be ignored by the medical staff. No manager on duty to speak with! Only nurses. No one cares! What a disappointment to experience this level of indifference from people who are supposed to be caring for people's health! If you really need urgent help, please go to some place else since in this hospital you will feel ignored and neglected.

I still suffer from sever back pains since 2019 when they cleared me after an accident. I'm not fine I'd rather be paralyzed then go threw this pain everyday

Horrible wait times. Our outpatient and emergency departments are a joke. Seriously, I had better healthcare in prison. Instead of worrying so much about a new hospital maybe its time we hired actual nurses that can help you and doctors that can actually see the patients. Edit, it's 5 years later and things are worse than ever. Wait times through the roof and it closes more than it opens. Sad, sad state our hospital in Montague has become. If I could give zero stars and slap the staff I would. 'Health care' is not health care if patients are not being seen in a timely manner.

I have had to go to KCMH ER several times for treatment in the past few months. I found the nurses to be tremendously kind and compassionate. The doctors as well. Yes, there can be a wait at times, as there would be in any hospital in North America. The care I have received from all staff has been excellent. I have also been to the ambulatory care department and again, received excellent care from the nurses in that department.

Absolutely disgusted with their service. Took my son in for an ear infection waited 4.5 hrs to be lied to about who they were seeing. ( as I was the second person there in the am, and and only one person was called in.) Watched a nurse have a great old chat as she played with her hair and joked with the other nurses. When we asked what was going on she said there was 3 ambulance had showed up. Which was a lie as my bf was parked right out side the ambulance doors. Ended up leaving with nothing after 6 other people decided to leave and take there issues elsewhere. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Take the drive to town or off island .

Everytime I try to see my dr they are on vacation, gotta go here, and if you don’t go early you’re waiting probably max 10 hours , and when I need my ears cleaned only certain drs will do that and the rest will tell you “go see ur own dr” how when they’re ALWAYS on vacation. Some staff will treat you well enough
