The kgh disgusts me, after the covid outbreak the Dr's there just have no care in the world about anyone! I do not recommend this hospital to anyone, they make me sick just to think of it. Something needs to be done because so many lives are being lost and so much more due to their negligence. Get a grip kgh, it's not about you and your thoughts and and feelings. You're supposed to be professionals, well put the people (patients) first. All hope is lost in this so called hospital!

I had the best experience at Kingston General Hospital. I was admitted for 9 days and all of the staff was amazing!!!! Doctors actually knew what they were talking about! ? five stars all the way for cleanliness, staff, doctors, specialists, dietician team and everyone I've interacted with!

End of life care team and cancer clinic were amazing. Incredibly caring and compassionate. Everyone else was awful. Emergency allowed my family member to escape (I was lucky and found them wandering in city park next door before they hurt themselves) while they were incredibly confused. Doctors on Connell 9 discharged the family member when they couldn’t even feed themselves, let alone the continued confusion and inability to move. I get that there’s not enough hospital beds but try finishing your treatment of patients before shipping them off. This family member was going to pass quickly no matter what but you didn’t need to make decisions that expedited the process.

Intake, pre-op team, amazing
Surgeon, amazing
Communication, fair
Compassion, big huge fail!
Post op secretary was miserable. Wanted me to wait an additional 2 hours (I had already waited 4) to simply give my sister her personal belongings and her essentials. Completely ridiculous ? ? ? ? ?

Do not eat at the Auxillary cafe. They use their bare hands to toast, grab tomatoes, pickles, utensils, without washing their hands. I went down to grab a sandwich and was totally turned off by the ladies multi-tasking and completing orders without using any sanitary practices. You'd think after COVID that this would be drilled into their work ethics. They did wear a mask, which was great.... But dirty hands grabbing multiple items was absolutely horrific to watch. I passed on eating anything from there.

The ER here is a joke.
I’ve lived in a few regions across Ontario and this is by far the worst ER I’ve ever seen. I understand doctors and nurses can’t be blamed for it never being updated in the last few decades but the fact that you wait over an hour just to tell them your there is ridiculous. Some guy was having a heart attack and although we all told him to get up to the front with his son, it still took them a while and they didn’t even seem compassionate towards him. I know Ottawa has their issues but I’d rather pay any amount of money to be taken there instead for ER related things.

One of the worst hospitals in Ontario. Standards have fallen since I worked there. Filthy. 30 % of the staff is kind; 70% treats you like you’re the cause of everything wrong in their lives. Good luck trying to see a doctor with experience.
A shower, even a facecloth, is an elusive commodity.
Food is some of the worst ever prepared. Why not use the Auxiliary Cafe to supplement food services - even at a cost: their food is excellent, but not many patients are well enough to get down to the lobby. So much waste on trays. Nutrition is essential to recovery. Is it too much to see your doctor once per week?

Worst staff ever on Connell 9 palliative care!
Very rude nurses, who gossip the whole shift they are there instead of doing their job. They do not pay any attention to their patients. They wouod rather drug them up and now listen to the word no from their patient, or look to see if they need anything, they don’t know how to check for bed soars or anything.
My mom fell out of her bed in the middle of the night, not once did they check on her or think to call me especially the girl who was on nights who was to be there taking care of her!
Instead I was told at noon the next day by someone who assumed I knew.
And when I called down to the floor to talk to the girl who was on she was already gone. All they had to say was they don’t know how long she was on the floor they found her at 5am.

Goes to show how often they really check in their patients. WHO THEY ARE THERE TO LOOK AFTER!!!!!

The most self centered floor with the worst care especially for someone who was on their death bed, they are there to make them comfortable and make sure they don’t need anyone or anything.
