Nothing really special, but has been a Lake Placid Florida landmark for years. Read about the history of it. Glad to see it still standing but would be awesome to see it open to the public.

The famous Placid Tower. It would be cool to go inside and go up to the top but unfortunately it is closed. You can still enjoy it's beauty. I used a drone to get better pictures and an idea of what it would look like from the walkway.

I remember one Summer in the early 70's our family went up the tower and on a clear day it was said you could see Cuba , unfortunately we didn't on that day. It was a great experience for all of us!

The tower is imposing. There is a large parking lot There are multiple adjacent vacant structures. The tower is abandoned. It functions as a cell tower

Historical tower. Its history is on Wikipedia. Closed to the public but still interesting to visit. Sadly the Tower restaurant has also closed, now Cang's Asian.

It's sad that the area is not maintained. This is a great piece of history for the area. But no one is doing anything to revitalize the area. You have many vacant store fronts. There is a run-down motel that is used for housing for the fruit pickers. It's a shame that the City officials have allowed this to become an eye sore.

I remember going up the elevator to the top in 1982 with a fantastic view of all the orange groves . I had a real feeling of uneasiness with an urge to jump, later found out someone did just that and the tower was cursed from a local witch.
