will say that as a whole organization L’Arche is doing good work for people with disabilities by giving them a normal home life. As well as place in the community as well as their basic rights!
That being said L’Arche Antigonish (L’Arche Atlantic) has some of the most morally backwards people in their main offices that I have ever seen!! They treat their house workers like cra! I’ve heard stories of them sympathizing with house workers just to go back and do the opposite of the things that they promised. Overworking them and then telling them that they have no right to complain about working too much because that’s what they should want to do. It’s almost as if Instead of just being a good organization helping people with disabilities it’s a cult that is miss treating the people who do the most work !! I’ve heard stories of choir members hurting workers and the main office brushing it off like it’s nothing because of core members lives are more important than the workers. When in reality it should be equal!! You’re not doing people with disabilities any favourable if you’re is not treating the people who care and love them with respect!
