This is a beautiful store chocked full of interesting items. Over the years I've purchased many tools from Lee Valley and found them to be excellent quality and value. The staff are friendly and helpful. I'm glad there is a Lee Valley in Kingston!

I really like this store but the last few times I’ve been in I’ve had a grouchy old guy who acted like he was doing me a favour by serving me. It makes me not want to deal here in case I need service. He’s also super slow and annoyed all the time.

it's a great store. Staff don't really follow you around too much. You're alone in this regard.

It's like a candy store for grown ups. Lots of weird gadgets and high end tools.

You have to submit and order and print it off a computer before you can go to the front desk and get your items.

The amount of sharpening stones they have is worth it for me.

It's more of a store for retired boomers that have money to spend on hobbies.

It's great.

If you work with Marc at this store he will set you on the right path for what you need and he is great and informing you of any issues you may encounter when doing your project and how to mitigate them. I would give 5 stars but I find the inventory at this location lacking.

Earlier this week I dropped into the Kingston Lee Valley branch with 5 hand planes that were recently passed onto me. Although I have some experience with wood working my knowledge of hand planing is limited.
On a previous visit Bill, who works in the Kingston store, offered to have a look at them with me the next time I was in. Sure enough he was good to his word and walked me through the features of all 5 pieces, set them up for optimum performance ( 2 are now designated paperweights!!) and went so far and to grind and hand sharpen a blade. All in all he gave me an hour and a half of his time and some
extensive knowledge on the set up, maintenance and use of my tools.
Amazing customer service!

Today the Kingston store Manager Deborah and her staff were so helpful for my families new business questions. As trade professionals my husband a Licensed Carpenter and Project Manager always gets excellent service and products from Lee Valley in Ottawa and Kingston for the last 47 years.We always recommend Lee Valley. Kind regards to the Lee family and all staff who have given excellent customer service for over 35 years.

This one star review is due to an inability to product review anything that this store sells.
This is not a review directed at this particular store but rather the product I bought 4-5 years ago, that is still on the website, but does not allow for product reviews. Why would a store not allow online reviews of their products The following product review should explain:
I bought a Radius Ergonomic Stainless-Steel Shovel for over 80 dollars and after 5 years it is broken. the steel where the handle meets the blade split apart. It is not one piece it is welded on! NEVER buy this product it is a piece of junk and they have no business selling it for over 80 dollars. My yardworks from Canadian Tire that is 20 years old is still working, never broken.

Lee Valley allow for product reviews, it's shady if you do not and shame on you. I'll never shop at your store or order online again because of the lack of transparency.
High prices does not equate excellence at your stores.
