I wanted to put my son in a French Immersion program. This Preschool operates out of a Millwoods elementary school Ecole Frere Antoine . Firstly my husband and I do not speak French at all. The teacher Madame Sophie is a first language French speaker and is happy to communication in English. She is amazing, takes her time to get to know her students, often checking in with how their feeling. Whenever any issues came up with our child’s behavior in class, she kept us informed. She helped guide our child to learn how to play, learn, and to be caring to others in class . Our son learned to keep his hands to himself, to wait til instruction were given before telling a story. He often would not look at Madame when he was speaking to her. Our daughter at times was very frustrated if, she had to wait her turn or didn’t get her way. She would cry and not alway participate when asked too. As a parent it was frustrating to hear when these events would happened. Some behaviors were new to us, we just never I counted these obstacles at home while other behaviors we knew all too well. We found Madame Sophie to handle these and many other situation very well. We were open to her recommendation and supports!! Both children improved as they continue in the program. When we had opportunities to participate a few times a month in class as Duty parents our child also would be the special chef for these days!! My husband works out of town a lot and he loved the opportunities to be in class for birthdays and field trips. Oh yeah we loved the field trips WEM marines Life, Ortona gymnastics, Zoo2U, SportBall, Jackie Parker Park nature walks, and so much more. When our son continued on to kindergarten at Frere Antoine, I found it super convenient for my daughter to attended both preschool 3 year and 4 year program.
Both our children were comfortably ready for kindergarten and even received a tour of the kinder. Class near the end of the 4 year old program. Our last child attended (2019-2020)

Parent involvement was reasonable my first year as just a parent with a child in the program. I met parents who volunteered on the parent board and was inspired to get more involved when my daughter entered the program. Benefit for joining the board helped me keep myself informed with what was going on and opportunity to have a say for change and unexpectedly gained Experience i leadership roles, since having children … cleaning coordinator, event planner and casino coordinator over the three years . Weather you want a little or more …volunteering with the Parent Board is not mandatory to attend this program. Watching my children become more independent while introducing them to a second language Priceless! Recommend this program to all.

I love this pre-school french immersion. Mme Sophie and Mme Brandy are amazing teachers. Their amazing program is “learn through play”. My daughter loves and enjoys her school every time. She is always excited to go to school. My daughter is learning new French words every day. None of the parents need to be french speakers in order to enrol. If you are considering of putting your child for french ever in the future, they need to be enrolled in french immersion before they enter grade 1 in Edmonton that’s why I chose this school.

My sister who has her kid attended here before. I couldn’t say enough about how amazing this program is. Mme Sophie and Mme Brandy are amazing teachers. First I thought it would be hard for my son as he has never been to a daycare/ day home before . But Sophie and Brandy made him keep asking me to bring him to school even though there is no class on that day. It shows that how much he love about this program, and I believe all of the kids in the program do too.
I would 100% recommend this program to my friends and relatives.

My daughter enrolled for the 2022/2023 school year. She loves it Mme. Sophie is amazing with the kids. She is super involved, kind, caring, and most of all fun. In the short time she spends with the kids (3 year old program 2 days a week for 2 hours) she is able to learn their little personalities and guide them to be ready for school and life. My daughter has gained more confidence and is finding her voice with the program. She is learning to speak French and is able to name objects and count in French. She absolutely adores the program and is excited to go. The school offers field trips which gave my daughter her first bus ride! She has made friends. Which is what she has been longing for since COVID. There is more parental commitment than other preschools which keeps the tuition low and offers you a chance to engage in your child’s school life. Which I like because once they start kindergarten you can only guess what they do all day. Because us parents are so involved, I find our class parents group has good communication. I joined the board to understand the inner workings of the school and it has helped me navigate the beginnings of Alberta’s school system. I highly recommended this school.

This is an absolutely wonderful preschool! All of my kids have attended and it set them up for success in school in ways I didn’t even expect.

The program is a fantastic introduction to a second language (we don’t speak French at home and my oldest kid still gets comments from native french speakers that they sound like french is their first language!). They also provide an excellent foundation for numbers, alphabet, and how to interact with others while regulating emotions.

If you have preschool aged children, I definitely recommend checking out Les Bouts D’Choux.

My son is in his second year of preschool at Bouts D’Choux and this program is incredible! The teachers are absolutely fabulous. The classroom has such a wonderful set up for learning with loads of books and awesome toys to play with. Their class plans are excellent and the crafts and songs foster a fun learning environment. During the shutdown they moved seamlessly to online learning, keeping the kids engaged, learning and communicating. They do such a wonderful job of making the preschool experience for each child a memorable one. Highly recommend this preschool!

Amazing French immersion preschool! Mme Sophie is a wonderful teacher with only the children's best interests at heart and goes above and beyond in all that she does. The programming is amazing and les Bouts d'Choux does a great job of preparing students for kindergarten. My daughter learned so much in the year that she attended, and brought home a ton of keepsakes. I will definitely be putting my other kids through the program.

My oldest son has gone to Les Bouts D’Choux for the past two years and I am so happy I chose to send him here. The teachers are wonderful, loving, kind and hands on with the kids. They do a different theme each month witha themed craft daily. There are also story time, free play time, carpet time each day and field trips at least once a month. They go outside as often as they can with our silly Alberta weather. I feel like this preschool has prepared him so well for French Immersion kindergarten and made him such a little independent boy. I will be sending my youngest this upcoming school year too. If you are looking for an amazing south side French preschool, definitely send your child to Les Bouts D’Choux.
