Luke 8:17 "For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open." God is in this school, and there are bright lights that shine within it, however there is also shadows of wrongdoings, insufficiency, and disappointment that all to often stay hidden and disguised and left unaddressed as to maintain the perception and reputation of being a highly regarded Christian school. New parents need to talk to other parents that have been there.

You are a school, you should not be using the back end of your website to steal people’s information for the sake of recruiting them. That’s very cult like behaviour. Also, I didn’t really look past your first page due to the obvious lack of proper values being taught at your school. Which I knew would be the case and I was correct. For example, my sons private program the core values are respect, honor, justice, good deeds, repairing the community, etc. You should focus on those for yourselves as well.

This was a quote directly from a teacher that left LWCA "A Christian principal should have Godly principles" I just feel when a principal's personal feelings and not facts or truth about someone or something directs their decisions, and no remorse or deep reflection or even accountability by other teachers or parents in that school regarding those decisions are brought up. Then maybe 25 years in control of this school has been enough. Its simply very disheartening to witness a man exercise authority in a Christian School without reflecting the love, humility, grace, and integrity Jesus calls for. This is my personal opinion.

Most teachers were caring and awesome. The rest, and the principle, were extremely focused on maintaining a bubbled atmosphere where anything goes in their analysis of religion and philosophy, so long as nothing even remotely oppositional is given credence. We were taught the legitimacy of Christianity by having our teacher mock other religions. Evolution was dismissed with a video of a debate.

Being someone who can rationalize how to best engage with people is very difficult if you spend your informative years surrounded by sentiments of adrenilated defensiveness at the slightest critique. The vibes there are that if you disagree with the more culty teachers/staff, you deserve ostracization no matter the case. And all the more if you have a personality and a strong opinion when it differs.

I regret spending most of my schooling here because I was already way too willing to let myself be walked over, and this place rewarded and reinforced that behaviour and mentality.

The exposure to different ways of thinking can lend long term stability in one's decision making, being able to weigh things with at least an attitude of being fair. This school is like a traumatized child that can't even think on something counter intuitive because they're too scared it'll change them and make them defenseless to the 'real threats' against humanity, like people who can think for themselves or stand up for anything they believe in.

LWCA offers K-12 schooling and ensures the kids and family feel welcome and belong. When COVID hit I felt they went above and beyond to make sure the kids were safe, understanding of the changes ahead and still able to learn and get a sense of routine. The teachers and staff all show this it is more than a job to them, they become part of your family. Now in grade 7 and 9 my kids still look forward to school each day. If you’re looking for a community to help raise and educate your children then this is the school for you.

A male teacher once straddled my legs (which were up on the seat in front of me. He should have asked me to reposition without inappropriately straddling a minor's legs) making remarks about the length of my skirt. Something he had a tendency to hyperfocus commenting on for many female students.

Accessibility and mental health support was often denied to my peers.

Necessary sex education was not offered and the sexual health of the student population was ... Awful, as a result. Never ask the administration about things like this. Talk to former students if you want to know what student life was really like.

They didn't offer necessary mental health support to students who were going through pregnancy, miscarriages, abortion, suicidal ideation, self-harm, abusive relationships, substance abuse, eating disorders and more - all things I witnessed take place during my high school experience at all LWCA.
Their general policy was to sweep anything that could reflect poorly against them under the rug.

My science teacher believed that humans and dinosaurs were alive at the same time, and taught province mandated evolution theory as dismissively as he could, showing clear disregard for our established education system.

The principal was more concerned with asinine issues like bringing me into his office and taking time out of his day to tell me not wear my hood up (there are uniforms at this school... If you don't want students to wear a hood don't offer hoodies in your uniform options...), than providing necessary accessibility accommodations for disabled students (other than his son who experienced flagrant favouritism compared to other students with accessibility needs), and legitimate mental health support from trained professionals to students who needed it.

The words (scriptures) written on the walls of this school, are not the same ones written on the walls of the hearts of those leading the school. Especially the one sitting at the top...
