I called this college to ask if I could enroll in this course with a work permit. The person on the phone said that it is ok because the course is 6 months long and the other 6 months are dedicated to hands-on experience. We scheduled a meeting and the first question they asked me when I arrived was where I was from. I am from Ukraine. Right after that they told me that I would have to get a study permit to enroll in the college. Quickly after that they offered me a tour of the campus and I was shocked to see their equipment for the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician course as it was very disappointing. I worked as a Lab Technician in Ireland for a year and I have some knowledge about this process and have done sterilization multiple times myself already. When I heard the recruiter describing the curriculum it didn't even sound like it would be appropriate for a high school. He called an autoclave an oven, which are very different devices and without that knowledge someone can get seriously injured as it not only increases the temperature but pressure too.
So at the end of the meeting he said that they do not provide a work permit after completing the study and that I WOULD HAVE TO GO BACK HOME AND WAIT FOR IT THERE. There is a reason I am seeking shelter in Canada and everyone is well aware of it or at least should be.
When asked about what laptops they provide for students (because it is a mandatory part of the payment that they buy us a laptop) he didn't even say who the maker would be, I am not even talking about a model at this point.
Also after reading some comments from 3 months ago I would like to let you know that the course is CAD 3,000 cheaper now:)
Take it as you will.
I wish you all not to waste your time and take away something from this review!

I am a Veterinary Assistant student, and was terrified of returning to school. Right from James at the main entrance, to all of the administrative staff, and Melissa, It has been an amazing experience, and makes me excited to come to school. They have smaller class sizes, and that makes it to be easier to ask questions, get assistance, and be able to learn. They are easy to talk to if a situation arises, and Melissa is extremely approachable, professional and a very caring instructor. Not to mention I am able to bring my pets in and they get to have exercise, and socialization in this course, while the students learn how to properly restrain, cut nails, clean ears, and more. I am so glad that I chose to come here!

I graduated from the business administration and marketing program.
Returning back to school as a mature student can be intimidating, and trying to start during covid makes things even more complicated. MBC made it an easy transition and guided me through the whole process, which has been a huge stress relief.
My teacher Marianne has been an integral part of my professional growth, she has not just taught me many invaluable lessons, but has also become a professional friend and mentor.
I have previously attended a competitor's campus, but I can say that I felt more welcomed here, and I love the school spirit. It is so cool to walk into the school and be greeted by a friendly face, and holiday celebrations, or see displays of recent student work.
Like everything the experience is what you make it, and it's all dependent on your attitude and work ethic, but Maritime Business college makes it an easy place to grow.
So easy that I'm going back again, 😀
This time I'm going to be exploring 2D/3D animation and I can't wait!

I am in the paralegal program in this school and although its only been 3-4 weeks I am enjoying it. My classmate are all nice and my teacher encourages questions without making me feel dumb for asking them. All in all a great experience so far and I am looking forward to seeing what the coming months bring.

I went to this school in 2021 for the Paralegal course. Myself and two other students were expelled within the first six months without cause. My personal experience was one of fear and intimidation. I still do not have answers. All three of us have appealed and are in the process of taking them to court. A fourth student from the 2020 Correctional Officers program was also expelled without justification. They have since won their case within the Private Career Colleges section and have moved on to pursue legal action through the courts. It is 2023, and we are still dealing with this. Although there is praise for the other staff at this school, it is the administration who let this happen to all four of us, and I would advise you to go into the agreement cautiously. I could never have expected such a thing to happen to me, and it could happen just as unexpectedly to you.

Edit: It's 2024, and many things at the school have changed. The school is under new management, and many of the old staff members, including the Campus Administrator, were asked to leave the school. I am now back at the school, tuition free. The new owners, who had nothing to do with what happened to myself and the others, were more than happy to give me my education back. There is a new Campus Administrator that is working hard to run the school differently. Overall, it is a happier place to be. Instead of the one star I originally gave them, it is now a three. Hopefully, by the time I graduate, I will be able to give my experience a 4-5 star.

I am a self employed hair stylist who enrolled in the business administration and marketing program, and I found that the course really helped me with the business aspect of my career. From understanding taxes to what to post on social media, this course helped me improve in many ways. I recommend MBC and it's business course to anyone looking to either improve their business, start their business, or to better understand business.

I emailed the school to request information on their Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program. Somebody from admissions or recruitment phoned me the very next morning. He asked me a few questions, told me that he was going to email me all the information required about the program that same afternoon which was great. But, unfortunately there was one very important piece of the puzzle missing. The email, I never did receive it in my inbox. I even checked my spam folder to make sure it did'nt end up there by mistake.
It's been weeks now. I have removed them off my radar and will not entertain any offers bc of this poor review. I have since moved on to other schools now.
One thing I did notice though, during our conversation his tone suddenly changed as soon as he found out I was from NB and then immediately told me he was going to be late for a meeting and that was it, I was ghosted.
Very unprofessional for a school's recruitment office if you ask me. I know nobody's perfect but I think he should let somebody else do the follow ups from now on.
Take this review as it is. Maybe it was just unintentional but I witnessed it first hand from a totally different perspective.
I hope this review helps other potential students make a wise decision on their education and explores all avenues before making a decision with their hard earned money. I also hope the "Maritime Business College" reads this review and is able to improve on their recruitment process.

From: A very disappointed potential student
