EDIT: The petulant president of this business went so far as to post a negative review of another business in the process of having a toddler-like tantrum about this review. This person shouldn't be allowed anywhere near vulnerable populations.

This facility is the stuff of horrors. My grandmother was placed here coming out of the hospital and I will do everything in my power to avoid ever seeing anyone I love placed here again. Abysmal doesn’t even begin to describe the level of treatment she received. Food is consistently served cold, and is often inedible. I question if it was even safe to eat since it’s allowed to sit in the danger zone. The menus provided were almost never what was served. The healthcare staff and quality of care are wildly inconsistent. A few nurses were pleasant and competent. Most are indifferent and some are downright cruel. When pain management is critical to a person’s wellbeing, it’s just unconscionable to leave someone in tears for hours on end waiting for meds to be dispensed. The management are completely non-responsive, and constantly trying to find ways to gouge patients’ families for more money. TV and phone charges are excessive. The beds were horribly uncomfortable, and rooms were poorly appointed. This kind of care is not conducive to helping people recover or live their life to its full potential. It’s a effectively a place to warehouse the sick or the elderly.

I have been on the care side and employee side. My husband was a resident in Masterpiece. The facility is very bright and open, walking in gives you the WoW feel, it doesn’t feel like a care facility. The facility feels like a resort, I have heard comments of a cruise ship.
During the time my husband was there his care he received was phenomenal. The nursing, dietary, housekeeping and administrative staff all made my husband’s day enjoyable with smiles, laughs and respect. I visited him everyday, I was always greeted with smiles, from the front desk to all areas of the staff. The staff made our transition very easy. If there was any concerns they were looked after immediately in a professional manner. All the staff builds a close relationship with the residents and families.
After my husband’s passing, I was able to join the staff at Masterpiece. I love working in the upbeat atmosphere. As staff, in any area, we enjoy listening to the residents stories and learning their unique personalities. We are family!

As the newest dietitian in the facility I can honestly say that Chef Ray and his staff work very hard to make all the residents happy. Food is so important, and Chef goes above and beyond to provide tasty and healthy choices. Not often do we see fresh fruit regularly served in assisted living facilities, but I do. So lucky to work with a great team of food service staff. Krista and the long term care staff are sensitive to resident needs as well as likes.

Finding a proper care facility for your loved ones is not only a tough decision but a very difficult task. Getting the care they need where they will be happy and comfortable is challenging. Losing our independent life style and accepting that we need to be cared for is not a choice anyone wants to accept. I was really impressed with Masterpiece Southland Meadows owners and staff. Well designed, this facility offers the best care, food, and accommodation. I highly recommend it to anyone faced with finding a comfortable, well managed home for your elderly or infirm loved ones. We want to thank the owners and great staff for helping us make the right choice. I feel at peace knowing they will be well cared for.
