I wanted to take a moment to share some positive feedback regarding my recent experience with the facility. From the moment I arrived, it was evident that great care is taken to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for everyone. The entire space was spotless, and it was clear that cleanliness is a top priority here.Front desk staff was absolutely pleasant- assisted me, updated what needed to be updated. Of course I was a walk in not knowing what to expect.

Additionally, the signage throughout the facility was excellent. It made navigating the space incredibly easy ensuring that visitors could find their way without any confusion. This attention to detail significantly enhanced the overall experience. It is evident that staff take pride in their surroundings and it is wonderful to see. Thank you for exceptional experience this week.

A few years ago my partner had Rhabdo.

For one, due to their ignorance, my boyfriend and i managed to figure out what he had and he thankfully could advocate for himself but they were horribly ignorant to him for even suggesting he had rhabdo and had he not advocated for himself he would have died.

2) his experience in hospital, can you explain why he was monitoring HIS OWN vitals and urine for the nurses who couldnt be bothered to keep an eye on that, while that was viral to his recovery.

3) He expierenced a huge lack of sleep as the nurses on staff felt the need to turn the area outside into a gossip and cackle area at 8 in the morning. Again, rest was vital to his recovery.

4) even with all this, the nurses were still horribly entitled and rude and continue to be so no matter what the situation. Not to mention they played a hand in giving horrible care to his grandmother who passed away at at the Royal Alex, not even hours prior to being in their care in Mayerthorpe. Absolutely every single one of you should give your head a shake. You may as well close the doors to this hospital as its just there for show and to pump the pockets of ignorant, lazy, and careless nurses. I comfortably say this as a fellow healthcare worker. I would go home and feel utter shame if i were them. Terrible care. if you CAN avoid it, do not go here. And if you do i hold you in my prayers that they’ve since improved.

Although the facility is quite old and run down the drs and nurses here are absolutely phenomenal, I’ve never had such good and heartfelt care from a hospital before.

Never had a long wait time yet and friendly and helpful staff every visit. Not to mention the cleanliness at this location is kept up very well in my opinion as far as hospitals go. As much as nobody really wants to go to the hospital, at least one can expect nothing but a positive experience when coming here. Thanks again!!

Front staff are terrible! Went in to the emergency dpt, opened the door and was immediately yelled at by all three front staff. I told them to relax all I did was walk in a door that automatically opens (they told me they usually lock it)and I'm in pain and need medical attention and I also called before to let them know I was coming down, they told me I looked fine and literally called the cops on me for break and enter lol I told the cops what happened and they asked the staff to do their jobs this time and look me over. Turns out I was not fine and it was indeed a medical emergency. Good times

It's too bad that the young nurses seem to have nothing better to do on the acute care wing than to play on their cell phones.
I have an elderly family member in this hospital and I cannot wait til placement comes available elsewhere. She is definitely NOT getting quality care here its a small community and I've heard these stories before. Shameful

I wouldn't wish this place on anyone, 2018 they turned a SA victim away, 2019 mother had a stroke infront of the Dr and they didn't even catch it and here 2023 i've been in 9 times for the same problem with absolutely 0 help, but they'll send someone away with a Major infection telling them to deal with it. Dr OTEGHEKPEN time to find a new profession.

I will say, the nurses are at least amazing, they deserve better though.

With the exception of one, the nurses I have come into contact with in the evenings while sitting at the bedside of my elderly loved one
(who is in acute care) have been rude, impatient and neglectful. The team left him to fend for himself for hours on end, and did not answer the call button, despite him being unable to use the bathroom, or stand up, or move without severe pain. He had no catheter, so this meant they left him laying in a puddle of his own urine for several hours because his hands shook too much and were too swollen to position the plastic bottle they left him with. This evening, I pressed the call button once, because he sounded like he was gagging and then choking. A nurse did actually show up for this call, however she was irritated and rude, with her hands i her pockets, and I found myself apologizing for disturbing her. It is not as though we are harassing the staff by pressing the call button, we literally pressed it once yesterday, and once today. It is also very quiet in the facility this evening and I can hear the nurses laughing in their sitting area. Having always had such great experiences with nursing staff, and having so much respect for healthcare workers, I find this really disappointing, and I am shocked by the lack of empathy I’ve witnessed here.
