I just taught a workshop where I rented a room at the Academy. It was stellar. The facility is vibrant and full of creative energy. Sean, the owner is more than helpful. I have been teaching art for 30 plus years, and absolutely love this facility!

My experience of McTavish Art Academy is limited, but I am very impressed.
We purchased some flat-pack 3D models. They are laser-cut, and need to be painted and assembled . When I was there, I was very pleased to see an owl and a raven, from the same set of models. They had been painted very well, and looked very impressive as a 3D model.
I'd say that any child, working with an adult, would produce a very good result that they could be proud of. These kits would make excellent presents for people of all ages.

The workshop I signed up for was cancelled two days before it was supposed to start, and the required materials were over $400. The next time this workshop is offered is in 5 months, with no others like it this summer and I will be unable to take it.

Very upset about this, and was really looking forward to taking the oil painting workshop as there aren't any courses/classes workshops like it in Victoria this summer.

1) They are either wildly expensive and months long, or
2) simply oil isn't offered as a course

Our sons took a mixed media art class here and loved it. Instructor was great: had interesting activities and was very patient with the kids. One of the best after school activities we’ve done.

Had a really great birthday for our 4 year old daughter. The kids and parents alike enjoyed the fun art project which they took home afterward. The environment was spacious and fun with all the surrounding art work, and overall a really great energy here. Sean and the team were awesome and answered any questions we had.
I also highly recommend the art kits! They are so much fun, come with everything you need, and make for great gifts.

Just a very quick note to say a big thank you for the pro-d camp your team hosted today. My girls were over the moon and are very much looking forward to a summer full of art at MAOA! The instructors were so kind and gentle in their approach, and the creations they came home with were wonderful!

Our daughter absolutely enjoyed her two weeks at art camp! The setup and activities were great. The camp leaders were approachable and caring - all in all it was awesome! Only feedback comment is we asked for a longer day next summer, to align with parent work schedules. Great work MSOA!
