My son was struggling in middle school so much so that he had fallen behind by at least one grade level. Mind Over Learning accessed him and were able to identify specific ways to teach him and keep him engaged. We ended up taking him out of school for a year and during that time he was tutored in Math and English at MOL. This year he asked to go back to school and we were thrilled to see that he had caught up with his peers and the quality of work he is producing now is something we have never seen from him before. He is completing his work in class successfully. His confidence at school can only be linked to his experience at MOL. I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone whose child needs help.

I was impressed with Mind Over Learning reports, that includes not only academic progress but as well indicates student behavior and psychological comfort during the sessions. With Mind Over Learning my daughter gained huge confidence and interest in math. I highly recommend their services to any parent looking to enhance their child's math skills in an enjoyable and effective way.

Lack of transparency and honesty. Went to assessment and the dean stated child would only benefit from 3-4 sessions a week yet didn’t have team to fulfill the education plan. Made it very clear child would lose confidence and interest going 1-2 sessions a week. Yet then wanted me to commit to paying for 1-2 sessions a week until staffed with no time frame of staffing. Completely contradicting what was communicated in assessment and parental follow up.

Company rescheduled our assessment several times and double booked it. When asked for Written report failed to provide it as I did not request it in 1 week time frame. Yet those stipulations were never communicated in phone consult, assessment, or parent review. Parent review was also done immediately after child’s assessment without viewing any other reports I brought.

Seemed booking the assessment was merely to secure finances for business.

Expectation is child will also attend session missing school and other therapies, due to their limited availability. Yet those other therapies are paramount to this child’s readiness to learn.

Disappointed and would never recommend. It’s simply another organization taking advantage of AFU funding.

Furthermore, not all staff are Orton Gillingham certified, they are simply trained or mentored under the dean. Again another lack of transparency.

My daughter hated school and really struggled with writing and math due to her various learning issues before she started with Mind Over Learning. She has progressed so much over the past year and a half. We have tried other tutoring programs and private tutoring before but there was little progress and our daughter was frustrated and hated going. She has enjoyed working with every tutor she has had at Mind Over Learning in both the language arts and math programs. Her whole attitude towards learning and school work has changed. I can't say enough good things about our experience and the amazing staff. They saved our daughters education and scholastic future.

Both my children attended Mind Over Learning and had a great experiences. The evaluations are well rounded and assess all their challenges. The staff are friendly, positive and accommodating. They are knowledgeable in children with diverse abilities and are able to motivate the most challenging child. They meet the child where they are at and encourage them to meet their goals.

My daughter's grade 1 teacher identified a potential learning disability two months into our school year, and it was Mind Over Learning whom I quickly and thankfully found to support her. We did some intensive tutoring and I attribute her current success (grade 8) to the MOL team. What makes them different is that they figure out WHAT your child is struggling with, and break down the mechanics of language to help your child understand. This is child-centered instruction. We needed help. We tutored 2-3 times per week for five years. When things finally clicked, we found that we had unleashed a reader & writer. She is now heralded for her superior quality writing skills. When she attended middle school, it was our kid who knew how to tackle compositions. Her teacher asked me where her skills came from. Another year later, and we are once again being told that she has superior skills. I cannot imagine where we might be without the sometimes frustrating & daunting five years we spent with Mind Over Learning. We are incredibly grateful.

Mind Over Learning is the reason my son can now read. They have worked with him for approximately 5 years. They have always been kind, efficient and friendly. Even when there were some behaviour issues they problem solved and did not "fire" us from the program. Truly inclusive and collaborative with parents. I would strongly recommend.
