Our family could not be more thankful for Mindful Moments. A wonderful place to both work and have my child attend. We only have positive things to say about this centre, and all it has to offer. Our child really blossomed after joining their full time preschool program offered. I will always recommend this centre to friends seeking quality care with dedicated educators! Our daughter did NOT do well at Mindful Moments preschool. She was quite shy when she first attended (she had never attended daycare). It was very unstructured to the point that she would stand around and literally do nothing all day, just watch the other kids play. It's very sad to think about in retrospect. She quickly got into a rut there. After awhile, the staff suggested that she get psychological help! I'm sure the whole experience was psychologically damaging to her.

We had a therapist attend the class, who suggested to the staff that they TELL our daughter to participate, TELL her to do something. Apparently they had not thought of this, it was a brilliant idea to them. They tried it and had a little success, but I don't think they went very far with it.

We then switched our daughter to the Seden Center where she would get some extra support, and are very thankful that we did. It was like night and day. There they had a daily routine, they did a huge amount of activities, and most importantly she got the "push" she needed from the adults in the room. Their staff seemed to just know what to do, they really had no trouble getting our daughter to start participating and undoing the damage from Mindful Moments. In fact, they said she was relatively easy compared with other shy students they had had, and they didn't think she needed any special support. She ended up making friends with other kids in the class and really flourished under their watch. She loved going to school.

I think Mindful Moments is probably OK for comfortable and outgoing kids, but it totally failed our daughter. I think their staff did not do an adequate job, they should be better equipped when running a preschool. Furthermore, I have to question their hands off approach. Our daughter learned so many things at Seden Center and it wasn't at the expense of anything, it was all done through play and fun activities. Lack of structure I'm sure is easier for the staff and requires hiring less staff, but is it better for the kids? Mindful Moments was not cheap, they have nice toys but aside from that it seems overrated.

The team at mindful are SO amazing! We started with their program last year in the seedlings room, the ladies in there are so phenomenal. Our son was nervous the first time starting there as he had previously been taken care of by his grandparents and having been born during covid, didn’t have a lot of exposure to group activities or strangers. The team at mindful were quick to support him and feel comfortable. They provide daily photos and updates via the seesaw app so that parents know what’s going on and what activities the kids are doing. From water play, to making playdough, painting and even raising caterpillars, the team has surpassed our expectation and provides us with a safe place for our son. He’s now moved into their stepping stones room and already, the new team is making him welcome. I have no reservations referring Mindful moments to any parent seeking a high quality provider. I do not write reviews often but I am so impressed with mindful moments. They are not your average daycare. They have a rich, educational and stimulating environment for all three of my children of varying ages. The preschool is very similar to 100 voices in Edmonton. Which is where my older two attended before we moved from Edmonton to Sherwood park. I am so happy I found this place. My youngest who is now in kindergarten begs to go to daycare when he is not in school. They are very organized and have well educated staff who are patient and kind. And the cost is very reasonable. I highly recommend this place!

MM is simply amazing. The space is well set up, clean and the play areas are outside the box and well rotated. No plastic noisy toys here. Kids are encouraged to use their imagination and are offered a variety of different activities to bring out their creativity. Plus an art room, glow room and a full gym! The staff are kind, caring and really make an effort to get to know the kids as individuals. My kids have done full day preschool, kindercare and out of school care so I can speak to the quality of all these programs.
The owner/director is also lovely and very responsive to questions. MM feels like family.

I love the full day program that allows me to have a career while my son is learning and socializing every day. I can see that the owner and the teachers invest a lot of resources and effort to make sure the kids have the very best tools to help them learn and grow. From well thought out space, high quality toys and educational resources, to the new outdoor space, and the different rooms that the kids have access to (art, science, gym, glow and yoga), Mindful Moments offers the best program I’ve seen in Sherwood Park. We LOVE Mindful Moments. Starting during a pandemic was nerve-wracking but they go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and secure. We get photos every day of our kids and the educational, fun and varied activities they partake in. MM programming is intentional and educational and there is a strong emphasis on physical and outdoor activities which is perfect for my high-energy child. There's a gym in the basement for different games and when it's too cold out, and the games they come up with are creative and fun. Sometimes I wish I could go play with them 🙂

Best of all, the staff honour each child for who s/he is and meet them at their level and needs. They care for and care about the kids, respect them, encourage them to be their own person and pursue their own interests, and grow in all ways. They communicate well with both kids and parents, and my child's growth and happiness is apparent. I wish they'd had a toddler program when my kids were young so we could have started here sooner!

My children have attended Mindful Moments full time since 2017. We have been a part of the pre-k, kinder and out of school care programs. As an educator, I have been very careful in selecting the right child care program for my children over the years. Our experience at Mindful has been nothing short of amazing. The Mindful staff have always gone above and beyond to not only accommodate my children and their needs, but to also maintain a safe learning environment.
