We were promised a two queen bed room, and did not receive that as they do not have rooms with two queens. Plus there was mould and filth in the sliding door track. When we asked for a refund as we needed to have the two queens to accommodate our young children as well, the owner tried to get us a different room (which also didn't have two queens) then offered us two rooms (which doesn't suit our family's needs as we have children with autism). FINALLY he agreed to refund us when he realized that we weren't backing down about getting that refund. We will DEFINITELY NOT be staying here again, nor would we EVER recommend this motel to anyone we like.

Owner is very nice person. He helped us alot. Rooms are clean and mountain view from the windows. Tiny park jn the backyard .My kids love to play there. Close to Esso gasoline.30 minutes walking distance from the beach. All the staff members are very nice and helpful. Highly recommend 👌.

Our stay at the Monashee Motel was nothing short of amazing! Conveniently located right off the Trans-Canada Highway, the motel was easy to find. The rooms were well-maintained, offering a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. We were a group of 10, and the owner (Vik) went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. He set up a designated area just for us where we could enjoy a barbeque and a cozy bonfire—all within the city’s fire regulations. His warm hospitality and attention to detail truly made a difference. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. A solid 5 stars for this fantastic accommodation!

Wow, just wow. There wasn't a screen on the window, no towel bar in the bathroom, and I'm honestly not sure if the sheets on my bed were clean. At least I brought my own pillow and some blankets with me on vacation cause I was NOT getting under those covers. My Grandma even said that was the worst place she'd ever slept and she's slept in a tent by the road with no amenities. But hey, at least there's a big screen tv because that matters (sarcasm). Will not stay again.

We stayed here for a night during a road trip with my cats. The hotel itself is pet-friendly and you just need to pay a little extra for the pet fee. Vik is very responsive in replying email. The location is convenient as it near the Highway 1 but you will not hear any noise inside the room. Will visit again if we do road trip in the future!

Was in the area on business and needed a roof over my head for the night. The Monashee Motel fit the bill. When we arrived we received a friendly greeting. We were looking to get dinner and the young lady who prepared the rooms volunteered some helpful recommendations on restaurants in the area.✅ The rooms were clean and tidy with fresh towels and linen on the beds, A/C is available. I got up the next morning refreshed and ready to keep on truck’in and burning asphalt to my next destination. Cheers!

Booked the hotel late at night. Upon realizing that I had past the small town from my GPS, my called the hotel within 3 minutes to explain what happened. I was told that they would have to deal with it in the morning. They decided to not refund my booking even after calls by them immediately to cancel. Needless to say, I won’t be staying in the future and don’t think anyone else should either.

Response to Vik, the booking was made at 11:55 PM. You had multiple rooms available and my booking wouldn’t have affected other potential business. Once I realized the mistake, I called immediately. Your staff didn’t even receive the booking from Hotels.com by the time I called. I hope you receive the same response when you make a mistake! Karma is king.

I was driving by Mara lake and i decided to stop and spend the night to go swimming at the lake with my dog.
They took a cash deposit, which is rare these days. Took me on short notice.
The person who checked me in was very accommodating to let me have my room on the bottom floor because of my heavy bags.
The house keeper cleaned my room very quickly for me, and even got me extra towels for the beach which was very sweet of her.
Room was very clean and the housekeeper was so sweet. I know this is a hard job because i worked as a housekeeper at a 5 star hotel and she was amazing. Room was clean and smelt really nice.
The beds are SO COMFORTABLE.
Theres smart tvs so i was able to watch netflix and really enjoy my stay. Rooms are quite large, and the property is beautiful in the back where your kids or animals could play.
I would recommend staying here than any other hotel in the area. It’s good to pay for local chains versus large corporations.
I really enjoyed myself.
I dont hesitate to give an honest review, i will 1000% be returning here.
