The student service staff at this school seem to be completely incompetent. They don’t understand the questions and just ramble on about what they want to say. If they don’t know the answer, they should either stay quiet or connect me with someone who can help. This is so frustrating that I’ve decided not to attend this school. I highly recommend testing whether candidates can understand questions and carry on a proper conversation when hiring staff.
I contacted them twice, and both times I spoke with different people, but neither of them could understand what I was saying. They ignored my questions and just kept saying whatever they wanted. The website clearly states, “Equivalent or higher-level courses are also accepted.” I took a higher-level course, so I asked why my requirements weren’t met, but they kept saying it’s because I didn’t take a lower-level course. Is my question that hard to understand? Why can’t they comprehend what I’m saying?

I'm taking my welding trade at the Souch Campus and it's horrible. Half the teachers don't know the theory that they're teaching you, and in the shop it's no different. During one demo my instructor did a weld poorly and literally said "oh, well.. it's a good thing I already have my ticket"

They care more about preventing people from cheating than they do about helping their students learn. Last year I feel like they didn't prepare me in the slightest for the AIT exam, and this year I feel the same.

I will not be coming back to this school for my third year, and I strongly suggest anyone to go anywhere else for their post-secondary.

I was really disappointed with my experience at NAIT regarding program start dates. My program's start date was moved without any prior notice, completely disrupting my plans. When I requested to move to a later intake to accommodate this sudden change, my request was refused. To make matters worse, they kept all the money I had already paid, including the application fee and my first payment, without offering any refund. This experience has left me feeling like NAIT is more focused on profit than on supporting its students. It’s disheartening to see such a lack of flexibility and understanding from an institution that claims to prioritize student success

So I don't go to NAIT, but my partner does and just a couple notes. One they literally have videos that look like they recorded on a camcorder made in 1990 and with audio equipment that sounds like they bought it in the bargin bin of a thrift store.
Two they have videos for their online courses that are no longer listed, or set to private.
Three my partner has never had an exam where the exam program didn't malfunction.
Four they don't support you what so ever even during office hours.

I don't think this is even a legitimate school. Avoid this school entirely.

Absolutely horrible school. Currently doing second period carpentry and I’m disgusted with their organization. Doing exams with a shop right below you is ridiculous. Makes it impossible to concentrate and you get to go home with a headache everyday! For how much they pride themselves on being a great school they are anything but. Pay a lot of money to do these apprenticeship blocks and you don’t even get a fair chance to pass. Unreal. If I could have pulled out and got a refund the first day I would have. Save yourself the waste of money and do carpentry at the Alberta carpenters training centre. At least they care and give you a real classroom for exams. Try writing an exam on the job site and that’s exactly what it’s like

If I could write less than one star I would. I have attended MacEwan University and graduated from there. I have never had to deal with such a poor student service department, where nobody has an answer and they pass you along for months. They scammed me out of $500 after I was told my program was part time at the student fair and then was told it’s only full time after paying my deposit. They do not care that their students are left stranded due to their issue. Do not attend this college, as other reviews show it’s not worth your time or money.

I set up a call to inquire about the civil engineering tech program. A lady by the name of Charlene Parrarle called me. We discussed my high school transcript, I emailed a copy of my transcript so she could make sure my high school courses met the program’s minimum requirements. She said my marks met the minimum requirement for entry so I spent the $115 to apply. A month after sending Nait my official transcript I received an email saying I didn’t meet the minimum science requirement. What a joke and a rip off. The schools customer service is horrible in all regards when you need simple questions answered. Don’t waste your money.

The absolute worst. Not worth a single star. My husband took his IELTS exam here and then moved to another province. As a result, he did not physically receive his results sheet. Since he did his exam on paper, we didn't have the chance to download a copy either. My husband had an emergency in submitting his result sheet to one of his studies, so he contacted and explained his situation. The NAIT's answer was appalling.

They said they would only deliver it by Canada Post, despite my husband's urgency. The Canada Post strike had already been started, therefore we suggested several alternatives to mailing the result sheet through Canada Post. They never listened and instead passed it over to Canada Post, knowing full well that we would not receive it anytime soon.

We are still waiting and have no idea when we will receive it. They charge $300+ for the exam and another $30 to mail the second copy, but they still don't care about the recipient. If they are already aware that Canada Post is on strike, why do they not use another provider? What if the strike continues for months? Oh yeah, that's not NAIT's problem. They already got their business, so we should now deal with it. Thanks, NAIT. Seeing other people's reviews, I'm wondering why this place is still running; perhaps it's only for scamming people.
