Got my Earthmovers course here in 2014 was great . The only downfall is , it’s not stated anywhere that it’s not a “real heavy equipment operators ticket” it’s a mud moving course & you don’t get experience in haul trucks.. my teacher quit half way in I feel like I didn’t learn as much as I was suppose to and just had a free for all. Sounds fun but try getting hired. and wasting 10k out of high school.

If you're interested in mobile crane realize Nova Scotia and Ontario still use a lisencing program not an apprenticeship.

If you plan to take this and come to Alberta (As I did) take the program in BC or AB and go as an apprentice, here out west.

This program is essentially a waste of 13k, the instructors and material I learned were wonderful don't get me wrong..

But it's not recognized anywhere but Nova Scotia and there's no work there, and you likely won't get in the union either.

If your planning to take earth moving, spend your money on the Dexter Construction Institute (Google it)

For the same money they guarantee you a 14 week work placement with the company afterwards.

Good training and instructors, well organized. This review is for the mobile crane training. However, the school claims that the way you get your red seal is to run under Nova Scotia’s program until you get your hours. However this is illegal (working in another province without running under that province’s apprenticeship program). That is what the instructors warned us about and that is exactly the problem. Each province has different requirements, meaning your 12 thousand dollar NS training is not able to be used and you need to do it again. The school does not understand this, they will assure you there is no problem. Please avoid this school, go to Alberta or BC and do it there. Alberta is a little harder to get into, but BC is doable for about the same cost as OETINS. The NS OE union will let you join and get a travel card however that does not help you get ahead when looking for work in other parts of Canada. Also remember NS has very limited job opportunity to begin with.

It is a shame that the Nova Scotia OE union is taking advantage of students. These students need to do 3 things. Move out of NS, get their class 1 license, then do the mobile crane apprenticeship.

Quit lying to potential students, OETINS, this is FRAUD. Maybe you will be featured on CBC someday.

I took their heavy equipment course ( fundamentals of earth moving ).

Although the instructor is an amazing operator and knows what he is teaching i find this course was a complete waste of money.
After the course is done you will receive a certificate yes but you do not receive any papers for any machines. This course DOES NOT make you heavy equipment certified.

Everywhere i have applied in the maritimes all over do not recognise this "school" as a legitimate training facility.

This school has not givin me what i need to obtain employment.

I took this course well over 2 years ago. I geel like i was scammed out of an opportunity. I was accepted through E.I during covid so i did not pay for tgis however i wish i knew then what i know now and never took this course.

100% recommend NOT going to school here.
