The CDC basically kept us afloat during our period of shutdown. Without their funding I would have had to really slow everything down and possibly look for outside investment. I’m just happy we have them in our area, they’ve helped out a lot of businesses and I think they have the interests of the local community at heart, which is the most important thing.

After fumbling around with a couple of banks, and our accountant, we ended up at Service Ontario in Orillia who recommended we go see the folks at "CDC" - "Your Business Success Centre". As we are winding down an 'Inc' Company, we just wanted to create a new Company - same name, but not Incorporated. Seemed simple enough, but the Banks made it difficult and were of little help. Through the good graces of Celeste at the CDC, she helped us and in no time had our new Company registered and on our way. Thanks Celeste. As a social entrepreneur with a mission, but no previous experience in business, the CDC has been integral to the start-up and continued success of my business. Their incredible team encouraged our ideas and laid out a clear path for us in conceivable and achievable steps (e.g. comprehensive business plan template, start-up budget template and revenue projections). The CDC provided access to a straight-forward start-up loan process, continuous access to relevant grant funding, employee wage subsidies, general business consulting, access to in-house specialty consultants and workshops. 10/10 would recommend to anyone at any stage of their business!

I have to give the CDC in Orillia two thumbs up and I recommend them highly as a solid resource to any business owner or entrepreneur. As a female entrepreneur undertaking a large renovation, and opening a new business, they have played a huge part in helping me towards achieving my goals. Because of their knowledge of my project and their proactive involvement, I was able to secure a huge grant which will allow me to add comprehensive accessibility renovations to my space. Even if you feel you don't 'need' them, I would recommend you reach out anyways. The CDC staff has gone above and beyond for me personally and for Creative Nomad Studios.

Sam at the front desk always has a smile for you, she is always willing to help, they are like family, I have Brendon as my mentor, he is so knowable,smart, he has been just a phone call away. In just a few a few months working with CDC we have a successful business.
