I have been riding at Rainbows End for 2 years, as I used to ride at Owls Ridge Farm (do not recommend) and I have gotten so much better and farther into my riding career. Please do not listen to the other people leaving hateful messages about Kara and REEC, as while some of them used to be true they, are mostly exaggerated comments and lies. Rainbows End is a wonderful place and while there are some people who are rude, most of the REEC team is kind, accepting, and truthful. For all the comments saying "Kara doesn't look after the kids!" and " Kara is on her phone the whole time!" and "Kids looking after Kids" they also need to realise Kara is the only instructor there, she manages the whole place by herself, she has to take care of 15 horses day and night, and when she is on her phone, she is doing it all for her business. And on top of all that she still has to take care of 2 of her own children. And for the 'Kids taking care of kids' comments, Kara is out there with the kids for 99% of the time and when she does go into her house for that 1% it is to get food or water for herself. Most of the volunteers that help Kara are all over the age of 15. For people saying Kara neglects her animals, Kara was influenced to buy cows, breed her goats, and get more chickens by a former instructor at REEC. Kara sold her goats, cows, ducks, and geese to farmsteads across Nova Scotia and is focusing on her horses. So before listening to all the hate comments and bringing yourself or your child elsewhere, read this comment and reassure yourself that Rainbows End is the place to go.

I have my two beautiful daughters in horseback riding lessons with Kara. She is an amazing trainer that knows exactly what she's doing with her horses and with her training abilities with her students.
I give her a five-star rating because she's very understanding, very kind, caring and the best teacher when it comes to horseback riding lessons. My kids love her and the equestrian center.

I have been riding at this barn for 7 years now. I’d like to say I’ve come very very far in my riding journey. Kara has always been both friendly, kind, understanding and helpful. I’ve had countless amazing experiences here. Kara has given me the opportunity to meet so many incredible horses. All the horses are well taken care of and super loveable! I think Kara is an excellent coach and I absolutely love being at this facility, it’s always time well spent.👍🏼❤️

I have been at REEC for almost 2 years now and I have learned so ,I have learned more then most people that have been riding as long as me and even longer. Kara will push you to your limits and will show you what you are capable of, Kara gives the riders so many new experiences and opportunities and will teach you how to have a good bond with the horse you ride. Kara has a really great way of teaching and there are other couches that you can try learning from because it’s always good to get other tips and tricks from other people, the horses at REEC are not only gentle but also very lovable and well take care of. Kara does so much for the horses and riders and really tries her hardest. It’s very stressful to be not only a barn owner but also a business owner, I don’t know how she manages but she does it!! I volunteered at all the Summer camps and I really learned a lot and made so many new friends. The summer camps give you lots of new experiences and will teach you how to become an amazing rider.

I really recommend this place if you are looking for a kind coach, amazing horses and welcoming people to be around.

Do your homework when choosing a barn. No one is looking out for your kiddo like you are. If considering this barn (which has had a name change in an attempt to "start fresh" and avoid bad reviews), ask questions. Ask to see verification of instructor certification, ask to see current criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks for adults teaching and working around the barn in the presence of children. Ask to see their first aid kit and see how well it's supplied. Ask how they handle emergencies or an injury.

My teen rode here for several years and has been riding for over 10 years at various barns. Safety and rider focus was good when we first joined this barn but I can no longer say this is true. In the spring, she was thrown off her horse, breaking her pelvis in two places and getting a concussion. Kara told my daughter "you can't sue us, you signed a waiver" and her partner Anthony told my daughter to "shake it off". No ambulance was called. A parent of another rider drove my kiddo to Emerg (she has her license so drove herself out to lessons).

I could say more but it will echo all the other honest reviews here. As with any activity you get your kids involved in, do your homework, go with your gut and put your kids safety first!

Been riding at REEC for over a year. Friendly and laid back barn. Great culture. Caters to riders of all levels and truly makes the horse riding experience so enjoyable. Kara is super accommodating and very knowledgeable. Couldn't have better things to say

I should have read more reviews. Paid for 6 semi private lessons for 2 kids. There was no riding in the first two!! .. Telling me that the kids need to learn to dress the horse. 2 hours each time!! The other two lessons were good, with a different instructor. But all 4 last lessons finished between 20 and 30 min early. The last lesson, again only half hr ride, slow walk around and around. Finished half hr early. I felt ripped off. Kids enjoyed only 2 sessions. Will never recommend. The owner never returns calls or messages, has attitude and keeps throwing contract in your face. Accountant keeps sending bills even weeks after you paid. The place is dirty and full of junk, no place for parents to watch.. seemed even frowned upon.

Absolutely DO NOT recommend this facility. If there was a rating less than 1 star I would give it less. Be careful… name has now changing to Eastern Shore Equestrian but still the same owners. Don't be fooled by these people.
