The class ratio is fantastic for the learn to skate programs. My son is 8 years old and the staff were very accommodating to his learning needs. I highly recommend The Rink. You will have a great experience. The instructors are well experienced and the facility is state of the art.
Thank you to the staff for accommodating our son. He is having a lot of fun learning the game of hockey. We are thankful!

Some of the sessions have younger instructors that can be less than professional with the children. Can be overheard making negative comments about children. We had some concerns and voiced them but they were never acknowledged.

My son has been receiving goalie coaching and attending R1 Goalie training with Dan for several years. I cannot say enough about the coaching staff and their level of professionalism balanced with approachability. Dan’s coaching style embodies the athlete as a whole; discussing mindset as much as building the physical foundation for the athlete to be the very best they can be. They deliver on all fronts. I wish the organization continued success along with the players who show up and do the work!

My 8 year old has been attending training programs here for a little over a year now. We've had nothing but great experiences with both the coaches and front desk staff. The coaches run a little bit more of a disciplined practice compared to other facilities which seem to get the best out of the kids. My son is incredibly passionate about hockey and they've only strengthened his desire to be the best he can be. Attending camps or weekly programs here is easily his favourite thing to do.

Poorly managed company and programs (refer to other complaints in google reviews)

- Teen/Adults had to change in the same room, where men are changing down to their underwear next to 13 year-old-girls.
- I initially signed my daughter up for figure skating classes (1.5 hours of instruction), but was told she might more comfortable in the learn-to-skate class (45 minutes). When I asked how much the price difference would be, they kept putting me off. I asked the instructor and management for several weeks about the price difference, and was only told at the end of all of her sessions that it was only $29 difference ($830 for 13 classes - whereas the exact same class would be $379 for 12 classes at the same time in the spring). I would have kept her in the figure skating classes had I known that. She received half the time and instruction for basically the same price. When I tried to resolve this with management, their response was "It does look odd between seasons but follows some of our model for program pricing. Main factors for differences in the price are the ice sheet and the time of night."
I still have not received the difference in cost between classes despite reaching out to management several times. The instruction was just okay, but not worth the price, especially considering the class sizes. I could have paid for private lessons at that rate. I would not recommend this place for learn-to-skate programming and would never go back. Buyer beware!

The person who was sharpening figure skates had never sharpened figure skates before but failed to mention this when they were dropped off. Ended up having to go elsewhere. Do not recommend figure skates to be taken here!
